Great Buy Highly Recommend!

Wanted a rod/reel my son (5 yr old) could use now and have something that lasts into the next generation if he takes care of it as I have done with mine. Quality appears very good on the rod and reel which I expected based on the research I did prior to this purchase. The problem... Now my oldest boy wants one too (8 yr old) as he is trying to find problems in my 30 yr old rod/reel. ;-) Line that came on the unit is very good (normally one of the first things I yank out and replace). Over very happy with the purchase and I have used it myself. Good drag as well. I'm adding this review as I am deciding to either get another one for my 8 yr old or see if I can find a open face reel that he can handle. Both my boys cast lures for bass/walleye/northern pike and do quite well. Rare to use live bait and bobber which was the reason I wanted him to have a smooth rig to help retrieve some of the bigger fish he catches.

I ordered four of these for my wife and kids to use.Extremely smooth and good casting so far so goodThe rod seems to be great quality, not a big fan of two piece rods But at the time of purchase rod and reel were only 39.99 each so I bought four of them so far very happy. I will update if we have any major issues.

My husband and I have been using this little Zebco Delta ZD2 for several years now. The first one he received was a gift from a neigbor but we loved it so much until that is the only reel we use for bream & crappie fishing now. When it was time to buy new ones because the most recent ones were worn out the best deal I found was with Amazon and was for both the reel and fishing rod combo. I didnt think I'd like this rod but I LOVE it too. If you are looking for a light weight reel to use jigs to fish for fish bream & crappie, this is it. We've also caught good size bass, catfish and grinnel love hitting that jig but will mess your reel up and break your rod if you're not careful. My husband even caught a 30 lb carp on it once, but I don't advise that.

I was going to buy this elsewhere, but Amazon was alot cheaper, no tax and free shipping. This is my second delta reel and i really like them. They are smooth when reeling with or without a fish on. Also, the construction is nice and heavy/solid feel compared to other cheaper models.The rod is a nice medium action rod that works well with the reel.My only dislike is the thick red line supplied on it. That was the first thing to go for me and i put on some good thin 8lb test line which works great for bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish.Overall, you can't go wrong with this combo and for this price, its not much more than a cheaper model, but a whole lot better quality....
