This humorous guide to Ancient Greece is crammed with information and advice for time-tourists. Each illustrated page is full of things to see and do, and thereโs also quotations from notable Greeks, a glossary of new words, a timeline and more. A book for libraries and schools, with contents and index plus internet links to recommended websites. Review: One for Marty Mcfly - Left our daughter confused initially, she suggested it would be more helpful for 'that' Marty from Back to the Future. But she quite likes it. We got the book as she is involved in some ancient Greece projects at school and developed quite a fascination with the period. So its actually great for her. And as a parent it's fun to ask her for some advice on how to deal with things in the Greek world. In short, for kids its a great, light and entertaining introduction to this period in history, or history in general, without being tedious or granular The book is packed with amusing descriptions about the main cities of ancient Greece their tourist sights and religious festivals. Obviously it also deals with local practices and dress. There also is plenty of advice on what not to do. And the young reader is pointed to the best guesthouses, shops and entertainment. All this is fairly nicely illustrated with cartoon style art and several maps. It also contains internet references for further information. Might buy other books in this series when those periods are handled at school. Review: I really enjoyed reading this book - (from my seven years old daughter) I really enjoyed reading this book. The pictures are hilariously funny. It has clear writing making it seriously easy to read. At the beginning it even has a map of Ancient Greece.

very informative
great, good info and pictures..does not hide the sordid sides of life in the ancient world, but does not rub them in, either...good balance between fun and misery

It would be so much nicer in a bigger format! Still, it is pretty and interesting.

Very informative.
I'm really impressed with this book, it has so much detail in it and is very easy to follow. It was a smaller book than I was expecting to receive but is crammed with detail and visual images to help develop understanding.
