Well-written, educational, and beautiful book about bones, muscles, and joints
This book explains how bones are formed and discusses common conditions such as broken bones, scoliosis, and arthritis. It is unlike most other children’s books in that it is written by real doctors who know how to teach kids about foundational medical concepts with simple explanations and beautiful illustrations. It starts simple (defining basic terms such as muscles, joints, and bones), which is great for young toddlers, and then introduces more complex topics such as how X-rays work and knee replacement surgery. Fantastic way to introduce kids to these topics, especially if a family member is affected by any of these conditions.

LOVELY even though I Received a misprinted book, with a second book in the middle
This is a LOVELY book, written by wonderful authors. The first copy I received had a whole separate book printed inside the actual book. I will admit it was a bit unsettling because it randomly happened to be religious in nature. So I wrote a review about it, but also reached out to the authors directly through their email listed on their website. They emailed me back with in an hour, even though it was evening time. They were sincerely apologetic (and were as shocked as I am!) But were also extremely kind and personable!Because they are printed through Amazon, the misprint is Amazon's fault and completely out of the authors hands, which is totally understandable! So I immediately came back and updated my review. Because the book truly deserves 5 stars and I will definitely be adding more of their series to our collection! It's totally worth sending back for a new copy because our 4 year old really enjoyed reading about his bones and we used it to talk more about his up coming Tendon Transfer Surgery and all the things his Orthopedic Surgeons knows!Thank you Betty and Brandon for such a wonderful book for my little guy who likes science and is also about to have orthopedic surgery!

Amazing book about surgery and bones!!
Phenomenal book! I love that it teaches real medical concepts to children, but in a way that is fun, engaging, and easy to understand. Kids are so smart and absorb new information like sponges, and I love that this book isn’t shy about using big words (like osteocytes, osteoclasts, osteoblasts) and explains everything with beautiful illustrations and simple explanations. My daughter’s friend has scoliosis, and she was very excited to learn about the condition and how doctors treat it! Love this entire series!

Perfect for 6+
My 6 year old always says he wants to be a surgeon, so we bought this book for him for his 6th birthday. He loves it. A lot is over his head, but it leaves a lot of room for learning. Great tool!

The perfect intro to Orthopedic Surgery!
What a wonderful read! The authors did a phenomenal job at breaking down complicated topics into ways that are easily understandable for children. It is a great vocabulary builder for kids and adults alike, there's quite a few topics I didn't personally learn until I attended medical school, and even contains a glossary in the back of the book with definitions, so you can learn alongside your kiddos! Great representation to empower little girls and boys to believe that one day they can reach for the stars and become an orthopedic surgeon--what parent wouldn't love that!!!

We bought it “like new” but it was not. I suggested only buying new for this book.
We purchased this from the like new section. Some of the parts of the book were missing. If you do purchase the book, purchase it new. I only saved a couple dollars and lost out on a large feature of the book. I didn’t realize that there were interactive activities in the book like this, or I would have made sure I bought it new.

Educational book
What a great book. I am a medical professional and love this field in general. I am glad I get to share this with my kids through this book. It is easy to read - my 4 year old can understand much of it. He knows about calcium and talks about it with his food. He also remembers there are 206 bones in the human body. I recommend it for any kid going through an orthopedic issue!

Ortho for the little ones!
I’ve been waiting for the authors to release an Orthopedic Surgery for Kids, and it’s finally here! Such an amazing concept and awesome to get kids learning and interested in different fields in medicine. When I was kid I had no idea the breadth of the medical field, and this will be great to share with my children. I love it! Can’t wait to show this to my kids!
