So far so good
I cannot yet speak to the durability of these drives, having received it only recently, but in the attached screenshots you can see data from a speed test and health check.Note that the health check reads a high temperature. These drives may run hot, but the reader may note that this was after a long writing sequence inside a computer with a high end graphics card and may not be a problem with the drive.Drive appears healthy upon arrival, with speeds of 267MB/s read, 228MB/s write

Failed after 45 days, replacement also failed
Originally ordered this to act as a backup drive, a drive back things up to etc...was never looking for high performance but massive capacity. It should be noted somewhere that the drive uses the latest SATA 3 Power connector version, meaning you have to either rewire the connector, have a compliant PSU, or tape, or otherwise block the 3.3 volt lines. It's an Enterprise grade drive so this does make sense. Being on a consumer site like Amazon and no mention of this, is rather poor product documentation. The first drive lasted about 45 days and seemed like everything was fine. The smart status started tripping and in a matter of days got worse. Something about the spindle center was outside of seek range, I don't remember entirely the error but it implied that the actuator and heads could no longer find the tracks correctly, as if something had mechanically drifted out of alignment. This was after I had backed up various files.I would've concerned myself with backups of whatever being destroyed upon being returned, however, if my computer can no longer access the files, someone elses won't be able to either. The drive uses Helium, so opening it in a clean room and so forth isn't really an option. These drives can't be salvaged and restored and so on because they're using helium to reduce head drag and temperatures. So, contacted support. They were quick to respond and get an RMA going and ship out a new drive. So I can say they have speedy support. The replacement drive was the same size but a different model. If I was using it in a Data Center it may have been a problem. I was not, so I didn't care.I did notice by accident that the label on the second drive and probably the first drive was printed using the inkjet process. A drop of moisture got on it and I noticed the ink begining to smear. Not sure where these drives come from but, I'm wondering just how MDD Tech does things. The second drive was recognized by the EUFI and spun right up. Windows 10 however would not recognize the drive repeatedly. It did not show up in Disk Management nor trip the prompt and dialog box asking and offering to initialize the drive. So that never happened. Don't know what was wrong with it other than that. Can't initialize it, system doesn't recognize it, can't use it....I do wonder how this company is turning a profit and operating since they have such high failure rates. These drives are supposed to be factory refurbished, and so forth. As in they crashed, and were returned to the OEM and repaired and so on, resold as factory refurbished. Well, if they did that, why are they going out broken or dying to the end customer?I have various ideas that the first drive was not the size stated and mislabeled or whatever, not sure to think of it as sloppy or fraudulent. In the end I opted for the refund that was offered and went with a different supplier. Simply wanted an extremely large harddrive that I could use as a backup drive.

So far, so good
I’ve purchased 18 of these for a QNAP NAS since they are inexpensive. The good: they do work in the QNAP. Installed easily, recognized and am using them fine. They show up as “Seagate 18TB” and yield about 16TB useable. The not-so-good: they are significantly louder than the Maxtor Reds I’ve used previously. These aren’t loud, just more than the very quiet Maxtor Reds. The bad: 3 of the 18 HDs arrived DOA. I was able to return them to Amazon and get replacements that work fine.Overall, I’m happy (other than the 3 DOAs) as I’ve ran scans and RAID rebuilds on them several times for over a week with no problems. I guess time will tell and I’ll update here if issues arise.Note: I’m using these for a second copy of data for rapid recovery, if they die it’s not a big deal. I also ordered spare drives (tested and burned them in too) for the one-off drive that will die (all hard drives die, it’s only a matter of “when”). You should buy these according to your comfort/risk level.

Good value
I'm happy so far after running my first unraid server with 3 of these and running a parity check every week for the last couple months. My only complaint is that they run a little hot(up to ~50c). At first I was a little concerned about the noise of these but shortly after running them in a server they seemed to have quieted down.

FALSE ADVERTISING!!! No 5-year warranty, regardless of what description says. FRAUD!!!
I purchased this item because of the title stating 5-year warranty. The drive has died and I found out that there is only a 90-day warranty. FTC should investigate this type of fraud.

So far, so good
This is the first refurbished enterprise drive I've tried and while I've not put it to heavy daily use I did run it through a number of stress tests when first received and everything checks out clean. For the price it's been a great addition to my data hoarding habit.

6 of 6 drives were defective
4 of my 6 drives were not recognized in windows, linux, or by my RAID controller. The other 2 drives were recognized in Windows only, showed up as 16TB (unformatted), they should have shown 18TB, and both failed to format. Don't waste your time with these.
