If your here because youre thinking of buying one of those red plastic nozzles for half price DONT DO IT... I've owned several thinking I was saving $$ but felt like a sucker after after I bought this beast. Not only is it smoother to operate, but throws water downrange like a real fire nozzle should. Yes the NHT threads will work on a NPT fitting because theres a rubber grommet indie the base that seals it. And yes it shuts off if you rotate it fully unlike what other reviews said. The spray pattern is even throughout the range, much better than the red toys you see elsewhere. And the volume and pressure is far better too. I use this on a 1" line from my irrigation pump to water about an acre of grass and beds and it takes half the time my old red plastic one did. If you need this to water your pansy's buy the red plastic toy instead, this QWORK nozzle is what a real firehouse nozzle should be.
