Classic start to the series. Funny, engaging, and well-illustrated.

It's perfect i bought this book because I remembered it from my child hood. I loved going to school and getting to see the book fair being set up in the library. Thank you so much for taking such good care of the book. It's in perfect condition. I've yet to find a thing wrong with it.

Jeff Smith's Bone is a wonderful adventure story that can be enjoyed by all ages. Many of its characters are cartoonish in both personality and appearance, but they are still easy to root for and care about. This volume manages to tell a compelling story and weave interesting mysteries while still filling the story with great humor bits and introducing several compelling mysteries that will want to make you read the next volume as soon as possible. This version of Bone has been colorized, and it looks wonderful. While reading it, it is hard to imagine that it was once in simple black and white. Although it is slightly larger than a typical book, it is still small enough to carry around and can easily fit into a purse or a backpack. I would highly recommend introducing Bone to reluctant readers. Although it is a comic rather than a novel, the writing is top notch, and its story should be able to ignite a love of reading in many children. One word of warning: because Bone is highly addictive, you probably won't want to stop at just one volume. Be prepared to shell out for the rest of the series after getting this one. Let me just say...I love this series. Currently I'm a 20 year old gal who used to read this when I was still in elementary school. For some reason last week this popped into my head and I had to buy it. I DO NOT REGRET THIS CHOICE AT ALL. When I was younger we had this beautiful library in my little town where I'd spend most of my time. It was a safe haven for me and even when I think about it to this day my heart yearns for that feeling again. I know it sounds dumb but I've always gravitated towards libraries and books. But this was the place I first found this series, so not only does the story line and art work bring back the nostalgia, but the feeling I had as a younger girl in the library floods back as well. Now that I'm older, it's really nice and humbling to be able to appreciate how much detail and precision went into the artwork and story line of this graphic novel. This is probably the only book I've read in a graphic novel format in my life, but I'd recommend it for anyone of any age group. Yes it does contain smoking and innuendos, but if I can read it in elementary school so can your kids.

A friend mentioned that this was her favorite comic. I had not previously heard of Bone, but I have been reading more comics lately and it is hard not to be intruigued by Bone. Three young "bones" from Boneville: Fone Bone, and his two cousins, Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone go on an epic adventure. In addition to the Bones there are rat creatures, dragons, and lots of interesting creatures...and who knows what else since I've only read through book one?! I was tempted to just buy the Bone: The Complete Cartoon Epic in One Volume , but let's face it... a large part of why you buy a comic is to enjoy the artwork. It worried me to see that people complained that while the story itself was great and they were glad to have it in one volume, it was a cheaper quality product. This is why I bought the first book as a test. I bought a used copy to save some money, and as I read I asked myself if I would be as drawn in if it were in black and white or on thin paper. On the story alone, I would say yes. But I do feel like it wouldn't have as much impact... like watching your favorite movie muted with subtitles. You know how each word feels, but you strain a little to grasp it. So, I just ordered the rest of the series, some used, some new...and I can't wait to see where their adventure goes next.

Great read, Brings me back to my childhood memories!

This was good! I had never heard of it before finding it during a search for anything bone related under books. I am glad to have found it and am even more pleased to read it. Bone is a series of comics, and this is the first volume. It is ceeated by the talented Jeff Smith and is about 3 bones from bBoneville that get lost in another land after getting banished. What a fun graphic novel. It's easy to read, funny, and just a blast to read in general. I can't wait to read the next one. The characters include one sassy badass red dragon.

I love this series and I used to have all the books as a kid until I stupidly sold them for $2 per book. As a kid that’s a lot of money but looking back I wish I had kept them. But I’m glad I was able to find them here. Honestly this series is what got me into reading. I never liked reading until it read Bone. Although it’s a comic book it got me into reading novels. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone, kid or adult for a fun and adventurous read. The writing really makes the different characters voices come to life and wow I just love these books. So nostalgic and just as I remember. Can’t wait to finish book 1 so I can start the rest of the books.
