I've always liked D'Addario strings and these are as good as all the other sets I've used. Phospher Bronze is not quite as bright sounding which works well with Nashville stringing, stopping the sound being too trebly. Lower cost D'Addarios don't stay bright as long as their premium range strings, but they are cheap enough to replace often. My first go at trying Nashville stringing, although I'd known about it for years. Works pretty well for recording. You get a nice clear rhythm sound with none of the 'boom' you get when strung conventionally. Doubling with a regular strung acoustic does give a 12 string sound with the benefit that you can balance the two better. One thing to note. If you're planning on trying it, you will have to either replace the top nut or use the old baking powder and superglue trick to narrow (and possibly raise) the low E to G nut slots. It's also likely that the intonation will be slightly out higher up the neck unless you fiddle with the bridge saddle. For 'cowboy chord' positions, it's close enough.

As a recent convert to having a 6-string guitar high-strung, these are my first actual set of strings bought for this purpose - previously I'd looked up the relevant gauges and made a set from individual strings, keeping the G string low. I went for D'Addario because I'd already had a great experience with a their acoustic strings on my 12-string. When these arrived I thought I'd try out the high G that came with the set, but it broke while I was tuning it. No matter, as I wanted to continue recording something on which I'd used a low G previously. The other five strings have lived up to expectations and have that lovely characteristic D'Addario sound which I'm starting to love. One less star for the broken G (it would have been nice to have at least had the option of trying it), but overall very happy.

Not the cheapest strings but I've paid more without seeing an improvement in tone. Reliable, good sounding and they last quite well. Even when they get duller the intonation is still OK. My current favourite for an all round acoustic string.

Whilst looking for a regular set of acoustic strings, I came across these “D’Addario High Strung/Nashville Tuning” strings, and having wondered in the past about trying Nashville Tuning, I thought I would give these a try. I usually put on 12’s and tend to go for a set with a 54 for the sixth string, so the first thing I noticed (even before I had heard them) was how light they felt. The gauge of the strings from 1st to 6th string are as follows with a standard set of 12’s in brackets to show the difference: 10 (12) 14 (16) 09 (25) 12 (34) 18 (44) 27 (54) The 1st and 2nd strings are tuned to normal pitch but as they are 10 and 14 gauge respectively, they are already lighter than I would normally use. The remaining strings are tuned an octave higher than in standard tuning. I expected the new tuning to sound and feel very different, but just how much different felt almost like playing a different instrument. They have a very bright sound, but seem fairly quiet – given their lighter gauge. I soon realised that not everything that I would normally play on an acoustic with standard tuning would work as well with the same guitar but with Nashville Tuning. Blues a la Robert Johnson just didn’t seem to work but straight away, three George Harrison songs seemed to work brilliantly: “Piggies”, “Isn’t it a Pity?” and “My Sweet Lord”, and certain chords for example diminished chords seem to sound especially nice. To be fair this is the first day these strings have been played and I will try and give a progress report later on. I may not put this tuning on a guitar ever again possibly, but even if this ends up being the only time it has been a very rewarding experience so far, and would recommend anyone thinking of trying Nasville Tuning to give these strings a try.

Cordas para afinação Nashville. Não é o conjunto de cordas de aço comum. As cordas mais graves são mais finas que o convencional. Tinha um violão parado aqui sem saber qual rumo dar pra ele, pois já tem um violão de aço superior. Foi então que vi uma entrevista do David Gilmour onde ele citou esse tipo de afinação. Achei muito interessante e comprei. Li que cordas de violão 12 cordas tambem servem, mas pra quê desperdício? Realmente deu outra vida pro meu violão. A sonoridade é muito interessante, muito boa para música folk ou sertanejo raiz. O som é meio eterio, praticamente sem graves. Com as devidas proporções na comparação, lembra um pouco uma viola capiria (um pouco). Mas Recomendo demais! Vivi até hoje sem o conhecimento disso, então caso estejam com dúvidas, pesquisem sobre afinação Nashville.

「22才の別れ」を弾く為に購入しました。キラキラしたいい音です。 ただ、最初スマホのアプリで6弦をチューニングする時引っ張り過ぎて弦を切ってしまいました。どうやらアプリによってはナッシュビルチューニングに対応できないものがあるみたいです。気を付けてください。チューニング時異変に気付かない私もどうかと思いますが・・・。当たり前ですが１．２弦は普通にチューニングできました。 以前から持っていたクリップ式のチューナーは正常に反応しました。

For those who are trying this out for the first time, the first chord you strum is always unforgettable!! These strings are strong and vibrant and stay that way for a decent amount of time(have yet to have one break) I love panning these in a mix with regular strings because it's pure magic. Highly recommend the whole experience.
