This play set came interestingly packaged, because it wasn’t in the retail packaging shown in the product images, with a semi-open, brightly printed box and the characters in a plastic blister.Instead, Mattel had given up their usual high plastics and colourful printing approach to marketing toys on shelves in favour of more environmentally-friendly packaging: a natural brown box, with mostly just white ink printing. Although the outside of the box I received indicated the contents to be Ariel’s grotto from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, there was nothing to reveal what the contents will be like inside. Which is a bit odd, because the first thing you get to when you open the box is a colourful printed card flier showing the set (together with some of the additional mermaid dolls available). What’s weird to me about this is not using this as a label on the outside of the box: if you’re still planning to do the high ink intensity printing, it might as well be to make the set look more attractive as a present.There was no warning that this would be presented completely differently to the way it was shown. I preferred the more environmentally conscious design, but think this should have been depicted in the product images, instead of a completely different presentation style - as it seems quite misleading to do this.The grotto toy itself is a nicely designed all in one carry case play set, complete with seating, a slide, a dressing table mirror, and a moving clip for Ariel to go up and down from the grotto into the ocean outside. The set is made from high quality, sturdy-feeling plastic, with attractive use of undersea details and cleverly moulded texturing. A large-sized gold clamshell on the outside adds sparkle and looks suitably regal.The set includes live action movie versions of Ariel, Sebastian the crab, and Flounder as well as a treasure chest several of the gadgets, gizmos, whosits, and whatsits Ariel has collected from the world above into her secret stash. It’s a cute, neat, integrated set that’s easy to carry round.

this is the little mermaid ariel’s grotto playset officially from disney, it’s a foldable case, can store ariel and friends (flounder and sebastian) and some accessories inside, when opened there is a few play areas that ariel can play atthere is a sliding rail that can hold ariel and slide her up and down like swimming, travel between the balcony and ariel’s room, on the side the shell can be taken out and become a pool, inside there is a folding slide that can attach to the poolthe table has a seat where ariel can perfectly sit on there, table top has enough space to place the candelabra or mirror, that look funthere are a few pegs at the top where i can mount some accessories (like the dancing figure, candelabra) there for decorationthis is a simple play set that my little girls like to play, especially they love the movie, i’m happy with this product, would recommend

A nice little playset for any disney little mermaid fan or even as a first playset to introduce then into the world of dianey, princesses and dolls. The playset comes in a brown box with white writing all over, so dont confuse this as an outer packing box, the toy is inside. Although this is convenient for recycling, its confusing and doesnt look the most gift worthy to a child. The play set folds out to play. Brightly coloured and great attention to detail. Comes with a little mermaid figure, flounder and Sebastian and fun accessories which include a treasure chest and little mirror. Everything is all Brightly coloured and has been molded well. Shutting the playset up, it has a carry handle for on the go play. It has a fold out slide to go down and in to the clam shell pool, theres also a clip on the back wall to attach the ariel doll so shes able to move swimming up and down. Enough space to hold the doll and accessories inside when closed. Well made and good quality. Great toy to encourage the imagination and just have fun playing with.

This is a lovely little playset featuring Ariel from the live action film. My daughter saw this a few weeks ago and was thrilled to get this playset.It's very similar in size and style to the other Disney princess 'stackers' playsets - these can be stacked together so that little ones can build their own fairytale world. It's a really clever idea.The little playset opens out to reveal a grotto complete with accessories. It also comes with a pretty Ariel doll, Flounder and Sebastian.There's a clip inside the grotto that can be attached to Ariel to enable her to swim up and down.There's also a little pull down slide to the side with a little clamshell pool - my daughter likes to fill this with water! Ariel has also had a few dips in the bath too - I guess being a mermaid makes her perfect for bath time play.It's a gorgeous little playset that will delight fans of the new movie.

My daughter loves this little mermaid set especially being a huge fan of the Disney movie. The set is action packed and comes with some fun accessories like two fishes, slide, treasure chest, fork and of course the character Ariel. It’s a very colourful and vibrant toy set. The mermaid is gorgeous and is based on the latest film character. You can move her, you can bend her waist, rotate her head, and move her arms and put her in different positions. My daughter loves putting her on the balcony, slide and even take her to the bath to play. The set is easy to get playing with, with little assembling but does have small pieces and they easy get lost in the house. The set can be opened and closed and is easy to carry around. This makes a nice gift for all mermaid fans or those who love the movie.
