I needed to be able and find my light switch in a dark hallway outside the main bedroom at night. The little flickering toggle switch failed after 10 years. So I installed a motion sensing switch, but the darned thing couldn't be scheduled so that we wouldn't wake each other up when it went on brightly during those night time bathroom breaks. So I purchased this switch on the hopes that, while I'd have to activate it manually to turn the light on, the night light feature would illuminate my hallway enough that I wouldn't run into thing getting to the switch. Anyhow, it was easy to wire (3-way) and the night light turns off during the day thanks to a photosensor. My wife says it's too bright. Go figure. I hope the picture gives you an idea of how bright this is. I didn't enhance it any. It really does fill the hallway at night just like this! A great product at a great price from what seems like a startup company. If you care about supporting small businesses then consider this switch.

Love this light switch. It makes a great night light. It only comes on when it's dark. It's very well made and looks nice on the wall.

Needed a night light for a bathroom so after some searching decided to give this Lider switch/light combo a try. Since everything now days is made in China I was a little apprehensive about the quality of the product. I found this switch to be of good quality, with good documentation provided for installation, and fit perfectly in my existing 2 switch wall plate. Very pleased with the fit and function of this device.

I installed two of these (three way switch) in our laundry room, and they are doing exactly what I'd been looking for....enough light, but not overwhelming. Total installation took me 10-15 minutes....no problem.

Hallway night light

LIDER LED Guide Light Paddle Switch with Automatic Daylight Sensor and Wall Plate, 3-Way or Single Pole, (White, 1).I found the instructions easy to read and follow -- took me about 20 minutes to install the switch only because I am super careful, taping all the connections and tucking the wires back into the box with lots of care. It can probably be done in 10 minutes if you are used to installing wall switches. You must have a neutral wire for the guide light to work – fortunately I do have a neutral wire, but older houses might not. The unit seems very well constructed and it is UL listed.The installed switch works perfectly as designed and described. Unfortunately for some, no mention was made of the neutral switch except in the instructions. The paddle has a very positive click, which I like. The light is more of a guide light to find the switch in the dark, rather than a night light – it is too dim for a night light and perhaps brighter than it needs to be for a guide light.I am very satisfied and will have no problem purchasing identical ones if I decide to replace more switches where a guide light is a plus.

I installed this at the bottom of my stairs which open up to a hallway that is super dark at night and there are zero outlets to be found. I've been using a rechargeable nightlight for a few years which worked, but also was just stuck to the wall and looked all kinds of tacky.Anyways, installation was extremely. As long as you follow the instructions, you should be able to swap out an existing 3-poll switch in ~15 minutes. It took longer to figure out the correct breaker in the breaker box!To make it easier to install if you don't do this kind of thing often; make sure you have the orientation correct per the instructions, and only swap out one wire at a time to the new switch, matching them to the same locations on the new switch. Once you match the wires, it doesn't matter if the nightlight is on the top or bottom, whichever you prefer is fine.The nightlight is plenty bright and is self-dimming depending on the amount of light in the room. The switch is satisfyingly clicky, you'll know for sure you're toggling it. It is a tad loud, but oh well.For $16.99 at time of review, this is a really nice solution for lighting up a space or making it easy to find an odd switch in your home. Highly recommended!The only minor quibble some may have; there is no way to disable the nightlight if you don't want it to always be on at night.Note: make sure you have a neutral wire before you purchase this switch.

I swapped out a standard light switch for this one on my own the first time. I was convinced I did something wrong because when I’d turn the new switch to “off” instead of the night light going on the overhead light would dim. In other words, the overhead light would reduce its brightness and the night light on the paddle would NOT go on. Regardless if it was my error, product error, or an old house type of an issue I swapped the old one back in. I called my dad. He swapped this one in again … or tried to but unfortunately this was an old house or poor DIY skills by a previous owner. The neutral/third line that should have been run to the switch was run to the overhead light. The neutral line is what powers the nightlight hence the dimming situation.Overall, I found the directions easy to follow. The switch is great and offers a nice low light for navigating the dark hallway at night.
