They are easy to assemble and seem to keep the birds away from the windows at the back of our house. **Q: How can they be hung on the edge of a covered patio without damage to the roof?** A: First of all they don’t weigh more than an ounce or two. You could use those clips made for Christmas lights. Actually you could use duct tape. **Q: If the nest is already there, will this prevent birds from returning?** A: I don't think so. I think my bird pooping problem was because there was a nest. They really didn't work at all.
