Lamy swift anthracite - modest rollerball pen with a smooth writing experience - robust metal casing & line width B M 66 rollerball refill in blue

Lovely pen. Writes beautifully, like a fountain pen. The medium thickness refill is still quite thick. Discrete, but very high quality. All the external parts are brass and other metals, although internals are some hard plastic. Nicely weighted. Lost mine, so immediately bought a replacement. Then found the other :)

I like Lamy design, and this is a nice example. It's a simple, elegant, all metal pen with a nice mechanism which recesses the clip into the body when the nib is protruded, which is neat and also keeps you from putting it in your pocket with the nib out! Some Lamys can have disappointing writing qualities, but the M66 refill here has a quality rollerball and produces a strong, thick line. The pen is chunky and reassuringly weighty, but not so that it is uncomfortable to use. Finish is a mix of brushed and shiny metal, with a small Lamy logo by the clip. All round, one of the nicer pens I have owned. Slightly downweighting to four rather than five stars because the mechanism to retract the nib/recess the clip is occasionally a bit sticky, and I'd expect more of a fairly pricey pen.

Saw this in the Amazon Warehouse on offer less than half the retail price and took a punt on it being OK. Item came intact in its Lamy standard grey cardboard tube with an M66 Broad black refill. The Broad does lay down a thick line that can show through the other side of most paper. I changed to an M66 Medium Blue refill I already had and it works great. Obviously not everyone likes the gummy thick Broad nib and the lines it draws and probably why it was returned and became a warehouse deal. Good Find.

I have wanted one of these pens for ages - why did I not do the obvious and go to Amazon sooner? It is a beautiful product, just the right weight and so well balanced - a joy to use.

After using this new pen for a few days I can tell you the pen is of the highest quality. It feels precision engineered and solid, almost military grade ! However the ink in it and the way it writes is frankly terrible for a pen of this price. The rollerball gives a horrid thick and infantile looking scrawl with an eneven flow of ink that you'd expect to see from a very cheap pen. It needs a much thinner nib with a better flowing ink cartridge.

I love these pens and bought this one to replace one I had lost. It writes very smoothly and suits my handwriting perfectly. My only minor niggle is that the ink flow reduces well before it runs out and it is not so smooth after that point.

Great pen! Annoyingly product info says black ink but it comes with a blue refil.
