Dickies Big Boys' 5-Pocket Jeans

Growing boys change their size a lot. They grow out and then up. Out and up. The development of the adjustable waistband was pure genius, and I have almost come to expect it.These jeans don't have it.The beauty is that there is compensation in the fullness of these jeans. They are not "these swallow me, Mom!" too big. But, they are loose enough to still fit a boy who hasn't quite headed into that height growth spurt yet. Once he does, though, he'll need a belt!So, if I had to find a pair of jeans without waistband adjustment, this was definitely the pair to find.As for length, these are just right for an average-height 8-year-old boy. Long enough that he probably won't outgrow them too badly before spring hits, but not so long as to cause issues.So, what about durability? Well, I can't speak on that quite yet. I did, after all, buy them for the "only when we tell you holey jeans are not acceptable" situations. And I did buy them for an eight-year-old boy. But, if I were to make an assessment based on look and feel, I would say that these should be relatively durable. They feel solid and sturdy.The color is great - that nice-looking pair of jeans look that I was after with this pair.My only complaint? The button is really, really tight. My son could not button/unbutton himself for the first couple of weeks. That's one thing for a four-year-old. But, there comes a point when that is VERY frustrating for a boy.All in all, though, he loves them now that he's broken them in. I love they way they look on him. Bottom line: They are mostly what I expected from Dickies, a brand my son does love for casual pants.

They are not size 20. The way too big for my 15 year-old son! But they are under $10 each pair, so I decided to wear by adjusting the weist size using a belt. I usually wear size 6.

Fantastic fit! My kid needed a pair of “transition” pants between teen sizes and men’s sizes. These were perfect as they gave him room by being husky and gave us more time to find out what his men’s size will be.

Got these for my kid. A word to people who order. I ordered the same size as my kids other jeans and these pants were too big. So it gives my kid something to grow into.

My son is outgrowing his clothes rapidly so I started buying his clothes with that in mind. Sizing charts were accurate so they fit with some growing room!

Bought to give as gift. Only concern is the button instead of snap on waist as boys prefer a snap and hope he likes them as I did not think Dickies pants would have a button waist.
