I compared these to several other brands - Stabilo, Sakura Micron. Staedtler is the best. The fine point pens are smooth, ink dries quickly, are dark blue and black. They are just the right weight. These pens are thin but not light. The ball point pen is very smooth, and mine writes without a glitch. Someone else said theirs left gobs of ink on the paper. It must be a lemon. I love the pencil. I don't like light-weight pencils (or pens). This one feels solid and sturdy. I like the quality of the lead, very smooth. The highlighter completes the set. I will keep this box in my purse. No need for anything else, besides my fountain pen, which is the only thing I have found to be better than these pens. I am ordering a couple more to give as gifts. Review: great pens - This is a great pens set. The triplus fineliner pens are very dark (black and blue), smooth and the ink dries quickly so they work very well for a left handed person, like me. The highlighter is very helpful and has a nice fine tip. I was pleased to have the roller ball and pencil included. The ink on the roller ball also dries quickly. I do not use ball point pens very much but in my writing test it was very smooth to write with. The black case is great looking and the easel / cover folds up so that I can keep all the pens slotted and have easy access to them with out cluttering up my desk. It travels well and has one of everything I might need. (I end up grading papers in waiting rooms and Starbucks.) Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, the fold-up stand has worked well for me in all five I've bought (for multiple bags and offices). It's not the most beautiful case, but it's functional and handy and the quality of the instruments is great - especially for the price.
