Makes a great turmeric tea!!

There are 8 ounces of cut and sifted turmeric root in this package to be used for making turmeric "tea." Note that this is actually a tisane and not a tea as there are no leaves from the Camellia sinensis evergreen plant which is what real tea is made of. Nevertheless, I really like this brew. Per the instructions, I used one teaspoon to a cup of boiling water and steeped it for 5 minutes (5-10 recommended). The resulting brew is a fluorescent orange with a subtle but spicey aroma and flavor that is pleasing to the palate and tastes very much as turmeric should. The ingredients are cut and sifted turmeric root from India. The current price of $7.83 ($8.24 minus 5%) is reasonably priced for this.

To begin with, I was shocked at how fresh this turmeric was. It got to me, halfway around the world, within days of being processed and bagged. The manufacturing date was May 2023. Days within my receipt. The expiration date is April 2025. And what's inside is truly fresh. The texture is not a powder. Instead, they are small pieces that kind of remind me a little of granola. Not sure, but that will probably hold up longer than the powdered form. Still easy to use. Of course, you can just pop it into a blender or grinder if you need to pulverize it for whatever you intend to use this for. Won't be needed for most uses though. Easy to use. Tastes good and is good for you. It's also very versatile to use to flavor foods, as well as to use in your own homemade ointments and masks. Safe and clean and very natural. Good for both enjoyment and health.

Turmeric can be messy. I love the stuff to add to my smoothies, but by the same token if you've ever gotten the raw root before, it'll turn your hands orange with minimal effort. I thought this would be a decent alternative, but when I saw the word "sifted" I automatically assumed it would be powder, but it's really not. It's more of a dried pellet, which makes it so that you need to kind of grind it down a little further. I used a mortar and pestle, and then I had to really clean that M&P to get the yellow/orange color back out of it. So just know what you're getting here. It's not a powder, and just needs a little more processing before it's really useable.
