Art Pro Audio PrOMPa-Ii - Two Channel Mic Preamp

As a TV producer and VO artist, I found this preamp really does the job. It works well and is easy to use, and gives a really rich sound. I have had it for 8 years and it has never let me down. Highly recommended, unbeatable value.

OMG, this preamp makes my guitars, especially my acoustic, sound like butter. The tube warmth is definitely worth the price. I have my vocal microphone on one channel and my guitar on the other, both feeding an AXE IO usb interface. I can drive the guitar channel into the warmest distortion you’ve ever hear. Butter, butter, butter!! This makes me want to get the smaller single channel tube preamp from Art to take for open mic night!

For radio station. Replaced tubes was easy but watch some YouTube videos first...you can use to much force. Works great all our microphones went from too quiet to too hot if you don't turn it down...a much better problem to have. Slight delay as it warms up when you turn it on from when the microphones go on. We are a24/7 radio station with a bunch of audiophiles as DJs and none of them are complaining...and they will complain believe me. Very satisfied solved several problems for us. We have been using it constantly for about a month...more use than an individual would prob do in a year...zero problems which as the de facto tech guy for the station is enough to make me weep with joy...it's a complex operation and this is something I haven't had to go back to and fix. I will try to post an update in a year.

I bought this for my son's studio. I also provided new tubes as suggested my many reviewers. He's been using the unit as is to great effect. Vocals, bass, and electric guitar all track very nicely.

Best on the market for the price. However I’d suggest upgrading the tubes. It’ll take a good preamp and turn it into a great one
