Great for cats & kittens!
Love this bag! Works on United airlines when we picked our baby up for the first time and buckles into car seat so it feels super safe while driving!

Simple, Smart Construction, but not as Difficult as Splitting an Atom
Previously, I have owned a Sherpa carrier and have used it only when necessary for hurricane evacuation, etc. It is huge, and fit both pets I once had. The Sherpa is great if you have a larger pet and no real carry-ons. (I believe it's the largest carrier that is allowed on the major airlines; the dimensions are bigger than what is stated on their websites, but Sherpa is the only carrier that is mentioned as bigger yet an allowed exception.) I now have a kitten and I wanted something that would be discreet and fit with my rollerboard suitcase. The Atom is a perfect size for my kitten. She can sit or stretch out with no problem. Right now, she's only 2.5 pounds. To compare, I put my sister's 11 pound cat in the carrier. She fit snugly. Although she couldn't sit up, she was able to stretch out slightly and seemed comfortable. I think it would be great for flights 3 hours or less. When I received the carrier, I put it on the floor and placed some toys in it to get my kitty used to it. She wandered into it and was even found napping at one point. The Atom slipped easily onto the handle of my roll-aboard. In this position, I liked how my pet was raised nearer to my eye, which allowed me to be very aware of how she was doing. I purchased the black Atom, and it blended well with my other black luggage. The zippers seem sturdy and the bag feels well-constructed. There is a clip on either side of this bag which can be hooked onto a seatbelt. This is a great feature, in addition to the handle sleeve, for seamless transfers between car, luggage, and plane. Cons: Pockets are nice, but they close only with a small velcro tab. Things may easily fall out. The shoulder strap is nice, but there is no way to disconect it. For my purposes, I used the handle slide when walking through the terminal and I used the handle located on the top of the carrier to carry the bag. The shoulder strap only got in the way. I would definitely suggest this carrier to others who have a small pet.

Fantastic! Only one flaw
This is sooooooo close to be the best bag and everything I’ve been looking for as a travel bag for my pup. It feels like a very high quality construction. Discreet and yet comfortable for my small dog. The front pocket is helpful for leashes or potty bags and the suitcase holder attachment made gliding through the airport a breeze. The only negative that I would suggest to the manufacturer is that my dog and I like having the top completely open and unzipped when in relax mode. Sitting at home, in the hotel etc. but because they chose to make the flap of the top fall to the long horizontal side there is no structure for the heavy sides to stay upright and they collapse on the dog. It would have been better to have the top open and fold-up to one of the ends of the bag instead of the side. See photo for example

I just got this bag and LOVE it. I have bought no less than 5 bags trying to find the right one for my 5 pound toy poodle. The website for this product isn't very good and undersells its features. Here is why this is the best bag I've found: 1) it is sturdy and doesn't fold in on my dog like most others do, 2) it has more storage than the website suggests -- there is storage on both of the long sides (albeit velcro) and on the ends of the bags (no closure but storage for bags, treats, etc., 3) nice, comfortable, soft padding for my dog to sit on (a lot of bags have a hard, plastic bottom that wouldn't be comfortable), 4) ability to convert one of the side pockets to a pass-through that enables you to slip the bag over the handles of roller luggage, 5) a firm handle + over the shoulder strap to carry the bag, and 6) the design of the bag disguises that there it is a dog carrier (one of the benefits I wanted). The size of the bag is perfect. My 5 pound dog can stand up and turn around easily. Many bags are too big, but this one is perfect. Overall, I have spent months trying to find the right bag and while this isn't perfect (I'd like the storage compartments to be zippered and one side of the bag to be mesh so my dog can see me, this is very close.

Looks like a normal bag
I like this. I have it in black and it really looks like an oversized messenger bag, making it a very discreet way to carry a cat around. I think it would be a pretty bumpy ride if you walk with it, because the animal has room to turn around and shift from side to side, making it hard to balance with the shoulder strap. It's smoother if you use the handle on top. My cat seems to like being inside of it, although she doesn't sleep in there like in the advertisements because she prefers to sleep with me. I put a treat inside and she jumps in, then I zip it closed. It easily fits in the car and keeps her from climbing on everything in the car while I drive. There have been a few car rides where she got upset about something and tried to get out of it, but she couldn't get out and there was no visible damage to the inside of the bag.

Overheating
I had to take my cat on a road trip to see a vet specialist so bought an atom, it was a good size for her as she’s small. The lack of ventilation made it too warm for her in the carrier, she began crying and panting, and I had to pull over and remove her from it, give her some hydration treats, and put her in her backpack carrier for the rest of the trip (which she did fine in for 4 hours with a break midway through but couldn’t last 1 hour in this one). On the way back I purchased a small clip on fan which seemed to help (she was also sedated, the trip was for her to see a vet specialist and she had been under anesthesia, which also helped as she was sleeping and calmer). I also kept her in the front seat so I could check on her frequently on the way back. I was planning to buy three more sleepypods for my other cats but this was really a deal breaker for me. While I would prefer a crash tested carrier and will use it on short trips, I also need my pet to be comfortable during the ride and not overheat.

Wish the round ones came in purple.
Loved the color of this airplane pet carrier and it's the right size to use on plane. We aren't planning to fly and got it for our 4 pound tiny yorkie to ride in the car safely. He likes to lay in a ball so he really didn't care for it. I sent it back(though I wanted him to love it as the color is my favorite) and ordered the red small round one.

Apparently not usable on airlines.
Bought for my wife who flys alot. When she measured it, she said it won't fit under cabin seat. Too stiff to fold down. So we bought a couple of different ones. Quality appears fine though.

excellent quality ad price
Ive been looking at these for ages and wanted one but wouldn't pay £180.00. when I saw this one for £79 I thought perhaps it was a fake but reviews convinced me it was ok so I purchased. My cat travels everywhere with me and sometimes even in pet friendly hotels its good to be able to carry her in a discrete way. This is ideal, its a cross between an oversized computer case / messenger bag so innocuous when carried across body, over shoulder or on a suitcase. She doesn't like any of the travel bags but is getting used to this one and when in the car with seat belt restraints and her harness linked to the clip inside, she can have her head out of one side if she wishes, which she does if my husband is sitting next to per and petting her. As everyone else says, the quality is good and extra pockets useful. Now I ve had it a little while I think I would prefer two zippers rather than one but that's a minor fault - also the 'pocket' that opens to allow the case to be slipped over suitcase handles is not really big enough for most of my cases, again a minor fault. Overall an excellent purchase

Excellent pet carrier
Perfect for my small dog. Well made with comfortable handle and carrier straps. Like the seatbelt securing safety feature. Look forward to travelling with my little companion by air and land. Have previously used the round small sleepy pod but this shape more appropriate for my travels. Recommend these products as high end and well made

Sturdy and comfortable
Sturdy and comfortable. My Yorkie puppy fits perfectly and I think will still fit when it grows up. Also good for traveling. It looks more like a thick laptop case than a dog carrier.

absolutly worth the money
Used it on the airplane. My cat needed to stay several hours in there in she really enjoyed it. I really like it, how easy it is to get my cat in there. Much more preferred then a box
