Review: To the point, easy to read book on leadership skills! - This small book is a most pragmatic, to the point book about leadership. It is organized based on critical leadership concepts/skills, including sections on: leadership mindset, impactful communication, clarity of purpose and priorities, building a winning team, and helping others grow. Each section has 3-5 page chapters that distill information down into the essentials. Chapters end with learning assignments to let reader apply chapter concepts, principles or skills. Book is an easy read and takes the in depth descriptions of leadership found in HBR books on leadership or management, and synthesizes them into easily digested doses. Reminds me of the Cliff Notes approach. I would buy again, and I encourage those aspiring to or taking on leadership roles to use as well. Review: Leadership Skills Defined - If you're looking for one book on leadership filled with practical tips and usable processes, this is it. I keep it near me all the time.

Excellent !
Inspirational! If you're looking for a practical guide to leadership that delivers results, this book is it. There are clear instructions for countless highly relevant leadership topics, including, for example: How to develop the right “leadership mindset” How to control your own emotions (which I think is particularly important in a leadership role) How to give feedback in an effective way – especially also critical feedback How to master very difficult conversations How to decode nonverbal signals in conversations (great learnings here!) How to set the right goals How to solve problems How to create a strong team spirit How to best lead a remote/virtual teams How to help your team members develop their skills to a higher level And these are just 10 out of the 50 skills that are covered in this book (… the ones that I found particularly insightful). There's so much to learn here! I also found the author's writing style very engaging, making it easy to absorb the learnings. This is really a great resource if you're striving for personal growth as a leader.

A must read for anyone who takes on leadership responsibility
I find this book truly compelling for several reasons. Firstly, its clear and precise structure and language make it accessible to practitioners of all levels. Additionally, the book is based on important and scientifically validated findings, adding credibility to its content. What sets this book apart is its ability to explain complex concepts in a way that even laypersons can easily grasp. It empowers readers to immediately apply the principles discussed. Furthermore, the inclusion of a glossary greatly enhances the book's usability, allowing readers to quickly find and understand specific terms. The only aspect I wish the book addressed is how to effectively handle "complicated personalities" within a team or as a team leader when dealing with individuals who exhibit negative character traits. However, this slight omission could potentially serve as an inspiration for another book to explore this topic in depth. Overall, I highly recommend this book for its practicality, scientific foundation, and accessibility. It has the potential to benefit both seasoned practitioners and individuals new to the subject matter.
