Very inspirational book lots of motivation techniques and applying lots of Colo

Painting any portrait (which takes awhile because I'm not good at getting a likeness, yet) is almost painful as far as actual skin color is concerned. I bought this book to help with that and have not done any of the exercises as I'm busy doing self-portraits which will be used when I dive into it. But the instructions are clear, the pictures are incredible, and the coloring examples have great variety (I didn't even know you could do watercolor and charcoal together!). (LOVE the creative chapter (4) the best!) I will update in the future but so far this book is exactly what I've been searching for for a long time. Thanks so much to Ana for writing it!It has 141 pages.

The media could not be loaded. Just got this today. Book is great quality and very informative. Full of inspiration! Color theory and composition in this book is outstanding as compared to some. Have not started the portrait lessons yet but I am now very inspired to do so. Author did a fabulous job and makes me feel like I can do this!

This book contains very creative and informative how-to as for portraits. I had my doubts about how this book would turn out, and I'm glad I didn't judge to quickly. The artist is very very good. Anyone who wants to find their own way in portrait painting should buy this book.

This book is a nice book, but unfortunately not my cup of tea. That is not to say it wouldn't be for others. I am more of a traditionalist. I think this is for more of a risk taker than I am when it comes to painting style. That is the only reason for the 3 stars. The book is written well but the style is just not for me. However, it may be yours and you would give it 5 stars and that's wonderful!
