Oliver Loves Honest Kitchen
Oliver won’t eat anything else. Was recommended by the vet at the shelter where we adopted Oliver. I actually did a taste test. Really Good. Human grade. Not kidding. Small kibbles, easy to eat, a bit crunchy but not too hard. Full of vitamins and nutrients. All natural. No fillers. One bag lasts 2 weeks so I am buying on Amazon every two weeks, good price.

Really like this!!
I have been feeding this (along with a homemade mixture) to my min pin for quite some time. It's pretty amazing that at one point I had 2 dogs, each with opposite stool issues- one very soft, the other hard. Once I introduced this food into the homemade mixture both of their stools improved- go figure!! I even give It as a treat!! My dog loves It!

Pricey,Poor Packaging,Perfect Recipe!
My mini rat terrier likes the taste of this food but she gained a little weight b/c pieces are like fragile tiny cookies and that should have been considered in how it is packaged- only super hard regular dog food can withstand typical shipping, stocking, etc- All the powdered food is hard to measure (I mix it with water and serve immediately- more than a minute sitting it becomes unpalatable for her) I fear if they adjust packaging it will cost even more , however, and keeping my mostly white dog from looking “pink” from allergies to pea protein, tomato pumice, etc that are in other top of the line dog foods will be super expensive (it’s already just plain expensive). My budget also depends on Prime discounts and sales on this product! Every good review I leave is usually followed by a price hike- maybe that’s a coincidence/ maybe not- I must confess it took me so many brands to find one that did not need to be doctored- up for my dogs to eat-another downside is some bags smell more like oatmeal crackers and less like chicken so I am concerned about consistency in the recipe. My HairyPoppins (dog-daughter) makes me buy this food!

My dog loves this stuff
I'm always trying to stay up to date on problems with dog food and where to find the benefits. Reading ingredients that are actually things I would eat/cook for most of the ingredients was what led me to try it. The fact that this is human grade (not feed grade) was definitely something that sounded better to me. So I was impressed with everything I read. The dog eating it is more important for this review though. As soon as my dog hears this bag opening he is up and next to it. Open a new bag and he's literally trying to get in it (he's 7 and NEVER did that before). If he's laying on my bed (which means do not disturb his highness usually) he will come running if he hears us putting food in his bowl. He eats immediately, absolutely no wait time. Now to the bowl....after his previous specialty (almost $70 a bag) food and his previous grain free food, his bowl always had an odd sticky coating that was nasty to clean every day. Since switching to this food....that bowl is shiny and looks like it's been scrubbed clean already. Either he is licking every single crumb or the ingredients aren't something leaving that nasty film. It's nice to see particles that actually look like an orange carrot matching the ingredient list and not just brown brown brown. Interestingly enough when he was eating almost 6 cups of food of the healthy weight food he was outrageously begging for our food sitting inches away. This food he is supposed to get 3.5 to 4 cups and he can actually see me eat from a few feet away. So far after a couple weeks, I can see that his coat is a little darker and looks healthier (he's a golden). He's always been playful and crazy, so hard to tell if his energy level has changed. I also tried the refrigerated dog food that looks like liverwurst mixed with his old food and he just picked some out and chose not to eat.

MY DOG LOVES THIS FOOD BUT..
I have been purchasing this product for a very long time, it is a great choice as far as the Nutrition the company states they use. My finicky dog likes it but every time I receive a bag I find approx. 1 cup+ is wasted due to the fact that at the bottom of every bag much of the food is nothing but powdered food which my dog will not touch. I spoke with the company months ago and they are aware of this problem, said they were trying to make changes that may take care of this problem, as of this date 04/2024, no changes noted. I have purchased the same product & no matter what size kibble I have tried, still I am loosing at least a cup+ since it is all powder. Perhaps creating a HARDER KIBBLE somehow would take care of this problem. This Dog Food is expensive and I hate throwing out a cup+ of powdered food that I have payed for. I purchase other quality dry Dog foods which I mix together with the above Honest Kitchen, never a problem with powdered food in the Bags. I am not sure if I can remain a customer unless they bring the price down due to the waste with every Bag I purchase. I would rather see a HARDER KIBBLE so I can use all of what I am paying for.

The only dry food we feed our dog
We've been purchasing this food for our French Bulldog since we adopted him 2.5 years ago. He loves it, and we love that we aren't giving him any "junk". We also give him the Honest Kitchen treats and cookies. He eats better than we do lol
