Closed at one end, open at the other for the light to be inserted into the sleeve.

Will this work for the nova 1500 pool filter

This is a glass tube that the ultra violet light the Bulb sits in for a well water in your house. Not sure if it will work for you.

how often does this need to be replaced?

Cleaned once a year, replaced every 2-3 years. It will become cloudy over time and you can see when it needs to be replaced.

Two O rings included in the sleeve package. Have not yet installed or verified fit. Delivered unbroken though...that's a good thing.
