Bought this 2 days after shoulder surgery so I had another sling other than then one provided by the hospital. This sling has the thumb loop which is an absolute must if you have had a nerve block with the surgery as it prevents the wrist from flopping and causing joint fatigue. The neoprene is thick so provides support and structure. The clip mechanism is easy to use one handed when attaching and releasing the shoulder strap. The chest strap is fiddly one handed and in the early stages of recovery you will need someone to help assemble. The straps are sturdy and do not fatigue after a time, however Velcro being Velcro will start to loose its ability to fasten after a while. I would recommend that you line the inside of the sling with a dry wash cloth / flannel as your arm does get hot & sweaty wearing it 24/7 for the first 4-6 weeks post operation and the cloth can be changed and washed as & when needed instead of the whole sling. Overall it’s a good sling for shoulder surgery recovery.

Following a shoulder injury I have been wearing a sling in bed to limit the movement of my arm when I am a sleep, to avoid aggravating the injury. Using a bandage as a sling has been semi successful, but my arm sometimes comes out of the bandage and I get woken up by a jolt of pain when my arm moves. This product seems to be a good step up from a bandage. It cossets the arm more effectively. As other reviewers have said, I would recommend getting a size larger than indicated in the size chart if you want it to support your wrist too.The supporting strap is attached to the sling with velcro so the pivot point can be adjusted left or right, either more towards or away from your elbow. The plastic quick release buckle is substantial and allows the the strap to be adjusted up or down to position your arm as you like it, either level or pointing slightly upwards towards your opposite shoulder. Also supplied is a detachable extra strap which can be used to secure the sling to your body to further limit movement, but I haven't used it because I don't need it. Have used it a few times now and my arm does not slip out of it during sleep. The material is comfortable and warm, consisting of sponge 40%, polyester 35% and cotton 25%. The care label indicates that it's hand washable only. at 30 celsius. I guess it's not strong enough to be machine washed. Overall am quite happy with my purchase.

Works just as it should

Overall it's easy to use and set up in a comfy position. Not 100% convinced it's sturdy enough for long term use. The shoulder pad on the strap really lets the product down. It's a cheap flimsy sponge which won't last more than a few weeks and brings no comfort at all.

My granddaughter had hand surgery and bought this sling for support. Would recommend it as easy to put on and very supportive.

I wore this pretty much constantly for several weeks after fracturing my shoulder - even in bed/asleep. The additional strap was not much use so did not use it but otherwise I could not have managed with the hospital provided sling. Excellent product I hope I never have to use again.

Product isn’t the same as the one advertised the one I though I was going to get had a clip fastener this one had just a crappy Velcro strap that starts to rub on your next giving you not only a shoulder injury, but also a saw neck, so a misleading advertisement for the item you think your going to receive, advice look elsewhere.
