WiiM Pro Plus Music Streamer for Stereo Systems, Modernize Your Hi-Fi

Using the WiiM Pro Plus as a primary sound source in an office environment. I'm using the WiiM Home App or alternatively the Tidal Connect link using Tidal's app. The WiiM unfolds MQA on Tidal for a perceptibly clearer and more dynamic sound. The WiiM Pro Plus sits on a shelf above my dedicated headphone amplifier -- a Schist Ragnarok -- and plays music through a set of Audeze LCD-2 headphones that I've had for years. I'm using my iPad as a control device (either the WiiM Home app or Tidal app) while I do actual work on my iMac. I've only had this for a couple of days, so I don't have anything to say about reliabiiity or long-term listening fatigue. I CAN say that I'm finding the sound quality much better than I feared. My primary listening system uses very high-quality audiophile gear that I've painstakingly acquired to achieve great sound. The DAC alone is more than 10 times more expensive than the WiiM, and my electrostatic speakers are over $10,000 these days. So I'm used to good sound. That said, the WiiM Pro Plus is a simply OUTSTANDING deal. I'm not doing any critical listening, but I'm quite happy with my new office music partner. Setup was trivial, although the instructions were either too simple or too complex. The only quick-setup guide was for the hand-held remote, and that's sending me to a device menu buried in the user interface. The full 40-page manual can be downloaded, and poking around will reveal the performance, hook-up, and features that are quite impressive (10-band equalizer, for instance, or the ability to sync multiple units together for whole-house sound, as examples). For my super-simple office application it was major overkill. I use Roon at home, and Tidal. The WiiM Home App works mostly intuitively, although there are a lot of features and capabilities that might be important to those who like to play with their food rather than just eat it. There are a lot of ways to use this streamer, including as a simple streamer into a DAC of your choice if you don't like the built-in upgraded AKC DAC that is the "Plus" part of the WiiM Pro Plus package. At the moment this is not "Roon-Ready" but the previous experience with the WiiM Pro model suggests that it should become RAAT certified in a couple months or so. The WiiM shows up on my Roon app as a Squeezebox Lite unit, which is better-sounding than Chromecast or Airplay. I've tried mine with 3 different control maps: 1) the WiiM App, which you need to run at least occasionally to keep track of over-the-air updates (I've had 3 so far and I've had it less than a week). 2) Tidal Connect let's you cast your phone Tidal through the WiiM where it will connect to your account and run the highest bit-rate supported, depending on what your Tidal plan supports. I'm using the top plan and the high-res + MQA sound quality is best so far. 3) You can run it as a Roon end point player, although not yet certified. When it does get certified, that is likely to be the best-sounding option, giving you the most control of your music. The WiiM app purportedly lets you play your own music if you have it online in your network someplace. I tried linking one of my music folders and it kinda worked, but got very draggy and slow. It's like teaching a dog to dance... it's amazing it can do that, much less do it well. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase, the great development team behind it and the terrific value it represents in terms of sound quality and capabilities at this price point. Highly recommended.

I have an external hard drive with all my CDs recorded to it — over 11,000 songs — and while it was great to get the discs off the shelves, actually accessing the music was never as easy as I wanted. The WiiM Pro Plus completely changed that. Now I can get to my entire collection instantly, wirelessly, and without digging through anything. Honestly, it’s easier than when the CDs were on shelves in a different room than the system. We also have a multi‑room setup with a speaker selector box feeding speakers in the kitchen, living room, dining room, and on our deck. That system hasn’t gotten much use in the past few years, but the WiiM has brought the whole thing back to life. It’s made it so simple to play high‑quality music throughout the house that we’re using it all the time now. It’s genuinely enhanced our daily life to have great sound available whenever we want it. Setup wasn’t hard, but I did use AI to walk me through it. The first AI app I tried sent me down some unhelpful rabbit holes, but switching to a different one (Gemini) got me on track. A couple of tips to save you time: 1. Make sure everything is on the same network. Your computer, the device running the WiiM app, and the WiiM unit itself all need to be connected to the same network. I have a mesh system and a separate wireless router offering different networks, so it was easy to accidentally connect things to different ones. Once everything was on the same network, things went much smoother. 2. Don’t try to connect directly to your external hard drive or wherever your recorded music is. The first AI had me do that, and while it technically worked, the interface was awful. Gemini suggested using an app called Serviio, and that made a huge difference. With Serviio, the interface became clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Once I had that set up, I was able to use Amazon Music through the WiiM app, and I also connected it to Alexa so I can control playback by voice. I added my Spotify account too. I’m not sure why some reviewers say Spotify doesn’t work — you just open Spotify and tell it to play through the WiiM by playing a song and selecting the WiiM device at the bottom of the screen. Works great and seems pretty straightforward to me, but maybe some people don’t like that method. I haven't tried all the other built-in apps but the ones I have tried have been easy to use and sound great. There are a couple of small quirks. For example, if your phone has been off for a while, the WiiM app sometimes gets stuck showing a song that already played. But the music keeps going, and it only takes a second to “wake” the app so it shows the current track. The important part: the sound quality is excellent. The DAC in this thing is no joke. It feels great to finally access all my old CDs so easily and hear them sound this good. A lot of them are not available on Spotify or Amazon and it's great to have access to them so easily again! I’m giving the WiiM Pro Plus 5 stars, and I’m already thinking about buying another one for my family room system.

Best streamer to your receiver in the business. I am aware there is another model with a small screen but in my opinion it’s not worth it especially when you have stored in a cabinet or sitting across the room. The pro plus was easy to set up and the audio quality sounds amazing. You have total audio eq control which really makes a massive difference when you dial in the sound to meet your room needs and or listening preferences. You certainly can just roll with the WIIM defaults but once you hear the tone shaping power of the eq you’ll be dialing in your sound all from the WIIM app on your phone. Get one, you will be very happy.

UPDATED REVIEW: I was able to solve the communication issue I was having with the device. There is a setting in the Deco Mesh Wifi App call "Device Isolation". This allows you to keep certain devices isolated from others on the network and allows them to only communicate with other isolated devices. I disabled this setting and I was able to connect to the WiiM! I am not sure if this is a Deco or a WiiM issue, but no other devices had trouble with this setting on. My review on the sound quality and app is still the same. The sound quality is good but not great. It does take some time to keep your specific speakers to sound good through the app's equalizer, but if you are not an audiophile and can be cumbersome. It is a bit clunky to cycle through input and outputs, but its not too difficult. LEDs on the front to tell you what setting you are at are terrible: green-bluetooth (why?), lightblue-LineIn, blue-streaming, red-digital. The remote doesn't currently allow you to preset inputs as presets, and only allows you to cycle through input; again the light is the only feedback for what input you are on. The streaming from device to device is awesome and allows me to listen to my records both in the house and in the garage without having to run wires. It is pretty seamless and it nice that I can control the volume of both devices individually through the app. I highly recommend, but would ensure you do have some understanding on networking and audio background to be able to troubleshoot any issues. OLD REVIEW BELOW FOR REFERENCE: Do not buy the Wiim devices if you have a mesh wifi system. I have been spending the last two days trying to troubleshoot. I have reset systems, changed to Static IP, set to 5GHz, followed every step I was given and they still do not work. Also, the troubleshoot offered through the app is terrible, it just has you reset device and router unit something happens. The device does deserve some praise, I was able to get one of the devices to play and the sound quality was good, not great but good. The app is great, when it works and connects, and offers alot of adjustments in the EQ and the sound synchronization is a neat concept, but was never able to get it to work. I really wanted this device to work because I constantly move around the house to work on projects and wanted this to be seamless changing to different speakers setups I have without having to connect to different bluetooth devices or run wires everywhere, but unfortunately was able to get things set up. The internal DAC is pretty good. The sound quality provided is not what I would consider Hi-Fi, but is great for the price and what is, supposed to be, packaged with it. I ran my tv and turntable, with external phono preamp, through it to vintage preamp and amp set up and it sounded good. It is a little flat, but this can be adjust through the apps EQ, again I was not able to get it set up so no idea house much more full it could actually make it.

The WiiM Pro Plus has been one of the best additions I’ve made to my audio setup. Setup was quick and straightforward, and within minutes I was streaming music throughout my system. The sound quality is excellent, whether using Spotify Connect, TIDAL, or other supported services. Everything works reliably, and the app is intuitive and packed with useful features without feeling complicated. What I appreciate most is how easily it integrates modern streaming into a traditional audio system. It has allowed me to enjoy high-quality music from my phone, tablet, and computer without hassle. The build quality is solid, performance has been flawless, and the feature set is impressive for the price. If you’re looking for an easy way to add high-quality streaming capabilities to an existing stereo or hi-fi system, the WiiM Pro Plus is an outstanding choice and an exceptional value.

I purchased this for a good friend's birthday. He has super high end stereo equipment and we kept trying to create makeshift streamers that just weren't doing the trick. Initially, I was going to upgrade my streamer and gift him my old one (thinking that he'd get the better streamer that way), or stick with the regular Pro, as he has a very old, but very good DAC and I assumed he'd use that, but then I decided to spend the extra few bucks so he could take advantage of true hi-res music, even if the output and power stages of the Wiim are inferior to his DAC. I'm glad I did. I'm not going to give a detailed review of the sound. What I'll say is, his older DAC certainly provided a more "musical", less "clinical" listening experience, but it didn't absolutely crush the Wiim as we both assumed it would. The Pro Plus certainly held its own, and should his 30 year old DAC call it quits, he'll be fine. What really got me was the comparison to my streamer. It's the other "budget" streamer that costs up to 3x as much as the Wiim. Full disclosure, I have an older model. 2nd gen to be exact, so the DAC chip and op amps are old. The Wiim definitely had the advantage on paper, but we weren't sure that would matter. It did. It wasn't even close. The Wiim smoked my streamer. Everything was better. Soundstage, imaging, detail, musicality, etc. Just a far more pleasurable listening experience. While I can't say I wasn't a wee bit perturbed, I was very glad I chose the one I did for my friend, and to know there's a a ridiculously affordable option for streaming hi-res music that sounds pretty great. Will the Wiim sound better connected to a modern, more robust standalone DAC? Yes, but that goes for virtually any streamer on the market, regardless of price. Plus, going with this leaves money in the budget for a solid DAC. Ok, I wasn't a fan of the app. But I'm not a fan of the app for mine either. Like, at all. The Wiim connected quickly and had zero problems maintaining a WiFi connection. Can't say the same for mine, and if I'm to believe owners of the more recent models, it's not just because of its age. If you're deciding between the Wiim and something in the $500 price range, my recommendation is to go with the Wiim and use the leftover budget to buy a Cambridge Audio DacMagic, Geshelli Labs J2, a solid SMSL or Topping, or the best used DAC you can find and afford. Seriously, I only wanted this thing to sound better than using Chromecast or Android TV box as a streamer. Not only did it far surpass that goal, it sounds better than 5 year old streamers you'll pay more for used than the Wiim brand new. I've actually been wishing terrible things on my streamer to have an excuse to upgrade to this one that retails for $300 less. Sorry so long-winded, but I really want to drive this home... Let's collectively stop wasting our money with companies who simply put a newer DAC chip in their device and deem that worthy of an extra $250! If you need a streamer, just buy the Wiim Pro Plus! If you hate it, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands.

I've owned the WiiM Pro Plus for a few weeks now and it's a knockout just like all WiiM products I've owned. Flaws first... feels kinda cheap. The shell feels like a pretty flimsy piece of plastic. It would have been nice for the Plus to get a metal shell like the WiiM amp to show a definite upgrade from Pro to Pro Plus. Also, the power supply port is tight and it doesn't feel very sturdy when you remove the cord... got to be gentle. That said... I'm not rough on equipment so it's all fine for me. I'm not using all of the connections but the SPIDIF in and out is very nice add... for instance the WiiM amp is only SPIDIF in. RCA line in and out is another plus if you want to passthrough to use the volume and EQ... or double as a switcher. I have a Fluance turntable into an iFi Zen Phono passed into the Pro Plus. Gives you a nice opportunity to use the amazing EQ attributes found in the app. One issue... I lost about 5-7 dB from the turntable on passthrough causing me to fiddle with the volume when switching sources. Not a deal breaker... and to me, worth having the passthrough option so I can use one mini amp to support both sources. I am a big fan of the AKM 4493SEQ DAC chip. Implented well here... even a bit better than the WiiM amp's ESS Sabre DAC... in my opinion. I hear a difference in the soundstage with the Plus sounding a bit more 3D than the amp. I like the way that chip portrays my music interests. The WiiM app is always the clincher. So much done right from music services supported to EQ to constant firmware updates. The 10 band EQ let's you really dial in the sound but there are also set formats that take just one click... and they work well. I have become a big fan of the parametric EQ although it takes some practice. ***WiiM... if you're listening... get the sub supoort offered in the WiiM amp into the Plus!... much sooner than later!*** That sub control for the amp is AWESOME!... Plus users unite! I purchased the Pro Plus on lightning deal for $186. The amp is a Fosi BT20A had for $80. I also have a WiiM amp with the same op amp chip in the Fosi and same DAC chip in the Plus. Soundwise, the amp implimentation is more 2D and bit thinner... I much prefer the fuller and spacious Fosi/Plus pairing for music listening. The amp has it's place, I like it, and it's a Swiss Army Knife, but for straight music, Pro Plus with your favorite amp might be better for you. I have WiiM Amp, 2 Minis and now the Pro Plus. ALL recommended for their certain functions. Cost/value to performace for WiiM products has been a hit with me! Setup: WiiM Pro Plus Fosi BT20A mini amp Fluance RT 82 (AT VM530EN upgrade) turntable iFi Zen Phono phono pre-amp Sony SSCS5 bookshelf speakers Elac 1010 Sub subwoofer UPDATE!!! WiiM added "room correction" to the app and WOW! Very simple step by step instructions. Once the sound correction is run, you have can further tweak with 3 different target parametric curves including "flat" and simple turn off/on. On top of that, you are given direct access to the frequency, gain and q to refine if need be. WIIM!... IF YOU'RE LISTENING GIVE US PRO PLUS USERS SUB CONTROLS LIKE THE AMP! Please...

I am a recovering Audiophile and have the gear to prove it. Like all Audiophiles there is that one more step that will become the "end game". That final step unfortunately never seems to come. So like many, I broadened my Audiophile sphere of interest to include vintage receivers. Then, some magical happened and I think I may be at the end game. I bought a Harmon Kardon 430 twin powered receiver as my final try to get a decent sounding vintage receiver. This after purchasing a Marantz and Pioneer of more WPC. The sound emanating from this receiver is so sweet, it just draws you into it and I can listen for many hours without getting fatigued in any way. But, to get to the point of this review... Just to see how sweet the sound could become (besides the FM tuner), I fed it HiRes and Lossless Audio from my MacBook Pro into an admittedly older (but expensive at the time) Burson DAC. Talk about a dark background! That led me to a "now what" moment. I certainly wasn't going to dedicate a $3400 laptop to any receiver (Well maybe one or 2 that are in the $$ stratosphere). So, I reckoned that I would dedicate the Burson DAC to the Harmon Kardon, but what could I use as a cheap streamer for just the digital feed. I looked at many "Streamer" only devices ranging from the WIIM Pro Plus to streamers that were many thousands of dollars. I was very reluctant to use anything that didn't have a USB out as I have seen crappy implementations of digital COAX inputs (to this very Burson DAC). After watching a few videos and reviews, I decide what the hell, if the WIIM sounds like crap, I'll just give it away. The price was too reasonable not to try it. And OMG, I was shocked. It sounded at least on par with the MacBook Pro and maybe even better as my streaming source. The COAX is perfectly fine for this use case. My next test will be to set it up with my Denefrips Pontus II to see if I get similar results. The Pontus II and the Burson are both RTR DACs and both have a warmish sound. It took me less than 10 minutes to set it up and most of that was a required update to the WIIM. The software is top notch and I got my Qobuz account playing beautiful music in minutes. DO NOT HESITATE, PULL THE TRIGGER NOW!

Wow! What a streamer. I upgraded from an old Apple AirPort Express and later an Apple TV to the WiiM Pro Plus, and the improvement in sound quality is incredible. Connected to my Bang & Olufsen hi-fi system, the music is noticeably clearer, with better separation, more detail and an impressively quiet background. I mainly listen to classical music, opera and film scores, and it genuinely felt like I was rediscovering my music collection. Even older recordings have taken on a new life. It’s worth every dollar—and then some. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be “wow.” Setup was quick and easy, and the app has been reliable and intuitive. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a Network streamer and did a bit of research on the internet and Youtube. After comparing the risk reward of each streamer, I finally bought one Wiim Pro Plus streamer. The initial sound from the Wiim Pro Plus connected to my Muzishare X7 integrated amp via a pair of Van Den Hul (The First) interconnect played through a pair of 92db Focal JMLab speakers was definitely better sounding than streaming via a Bluetooth receiver. Initially, even while I was streaming hi-res audio via Tidal, it sounded slightly flat and the sound stage felt a little compressed at the start. However, after watching a YouTube video on Best EQ settings by the cheapaudioman, I punch in the same setting he suggested and make some minor tweaks, and immediately the sound stage opened up, and the bass felt fuller. Now, I'm truly enjoying music that is streaming through the Wiim Pro Plus, playing Tidal via the Wiim home app. Be sure to fit this streamer with the best quality audio you can find, and it will definitely shine, it will not disappoint you. This is a highly recommended streamer at this price point for sure.

This multistreamer was a perfect choice. After a while I found out sone very nice details that made the use much easier. Like the autodetect of the optical signdl from my TV and the trigger output so that my amplifier turns on automatically. The D/A has been tested to be of high quality. I agree.

Qu’est-ce qui peut pousser à plus de 65 ans, posséder plusieurs centaines de vinyles et de cd, à passer à la musique dématérialisée ? La curiosité peut-être ? Personnellement, je me suis aperçu que ces dernières années j’achetais de moins en moins de disques ; je ne sais pas pourquoi et en même temps envie d’écouter toujours plus de musique. Je restais donc le plus souvent à écouter mes vieux trucs . J’ai pris connaissance de ces appareils de streaming un peu par hasard en voyant une pub de la marque française Octavio. Je m’y suis intéressé et approfondi mes recherches et réfléchi sur ce dont j’avais besoin. Et ce Linkplay WiiM pro plus (amélioration du pro tout court) conçu aux USA a eu ma faveur. Un peu plus cher que le modèle français, plus esthétique et avec une télécommande, il semblait plus correspondre à mon cahier de charges. J’ai transformé mon abonnement Amazon Prime en Unlimited (pour avoir les albums complet et non dans le désordre avec des morceaux d’autres artistes qui viennent comme un cheveu dans la soupe). Pour 10,99 euros par mois ça me semble honnête. Donc…… Le produit est sobre tout en restant esthétique, léger mais à priori solide même si ce n’est que du pastique dur. Les bords sont arrondis et les touches digitales à l’avant donnent une petite note « appareil hifi ». Je l’ai installé sur mon dac, en prenant soin d’y rajouter des petits plots en plastique pour éviter une éventuelle surchauffe. La télécommande est petite et sympathique, on en reparlera. Le coffret comprend une usb/secteur pour l’alimentation, un câble optique et un RCA…...que je n’ai même pas essayés vu l’aspect basique. Il faut bien sûr avoir une bonne connexion wifi pour profiter pleinement de cet appareil (fonctionne en BT aussi, mais avec une qualité sonore un cran en dessous). Donc soit le brancher à un câble Ethernet ou le placer pas trop loin de votre box. C’est une contrainte effectivement. La face avant offre donc 4 touches digitales de couleurs orangée volume + et -, pause, preset d’albums favoris (que 12). Une led blanche ou verte selon la source wifi ou bluetooth. L’arrière est plus intéressant avec: 1 sortie et 1 entré ligne, 1 entrée et une sortie optique, une sortie coaxiale (triggrer et LAN je ne sais toujours pas à qui ça sert!). L’alimentation est par USB et on peut regretter l’absence de touche Power pour le prix. Ce qui oblige soit à laisser l’appareil en mode standby soit débrancher l’USB. Je l’ai branché sur une barrette avec interrupteur et si je veux l’arrêter je passe par là. Une connectique assez rassurante même si on peut aussi regretter l’absence du plaquage doré sur les fiches RCA. La télécommande, une fois appairée, offre les possibilités essentielles : power, pause,volume (intéressant si comme moi vous avez un vieil ampli sans télécommande), changement de plage avant/arrière, muet, 4 boutons pour 4 pré-selections (sur les 12...pour moi inutile j’aurais préféré peut être une mémorisation d’équaliseurs), le changement de source et la possibilité d’utiliser la commande vocale pour Chromecast (si vous avez plusieurs appareils) ou Alexa, dont je ne me sers pas. A savoir que toutes ces fonctions sont pilotables à partir de l’interface WiiM home. La mise en route est relativement simple, il faut bien évidemment installer l’application WiiM home sur votre portable qui deviendra la tour de contrôle de l’appareil. Avec Amazon unlimited l’interface est relativement agréable, sans plus. Il faut souvent rechercher les albums, vu qu’on peut en mettre que 12 en mémoire ce qui est peu. Et l’écoute est à reprendre si on change de sortie ou d’entrée en cours d’écoute. Des petits désagréments pas rédhibitoires. L’application propose aussi un équaliseur classique 10 bandes et un graphique (là il faut être ingénieur du son!). A l’intérieur de l’appareil on a un DAC AKM AK4493SEQ dernière génération qui le différencie du Pro qui utilise un Burr-Brown de moindre qualité , un ADC : TI Burr-Brown PCM1861 pour une sortie analogique vers numérique ( pour brancher votre platine analogique par exemple). Donc si vous souhaitez utilisez cet appareil comme Dac il vaut mieux le Plus. Dans le cas inverse ont verra que ce dac est d’effectivement d’excellente qualité, ce qui permet de varier les écoutes avec son propre dac en aval. J’utilise exclusivement le WiiM avec ma vielle chaîne hifi, cependant de qualité. Pas avec un téléviseur, ni un home cinéma. C’est d‘ailleurs un des principaux objectifs de ce type d’appareil de pouvoir rendre possible le streaming sur des appareils ancien analogiques. Pour l’écoute j’ai d’abord utilisé longuement la sortie line out directe (WiiM vers ampli en branchement RCA), pour voir ce que valait la bête d’un point de vue hi-fi. Franchement je n’ai pas été déçu. Le dac intégré est très musical, ne souffre d’aucune limite rédhibitoire tant sur la transparence, la linéarité et l’équilibre spectral, la neutralité des timbres et l’image stéréo. Tous critères que les audiophiles passent en revue. Juste un petit manque de dynamique et de chaleur analogique que j’ai pu constaté en le comparant à mon dac Rega, environ 3,5 fois plus cher. Une musicalité irréprochable donc. Le WiiM peut de ce fait être utilisé comme simple dac économique si vous avez un lecteur cd entrée de gamme ou avec un convertisseur ancien. Ce n’est bien sûr pas sa destination première mais bien complémentaire au streaming. L’entrée peut aussi être optique si vous avez une sortie optique sur votre lecteur. On peut ainsi varier les plaisirs, et c’est ce que j’ai fait en utilisant les 2 sorties optiques et RCA de mon Apollo vers le WiiM et en utilisant les sorties optique et RCA du WiiM vers le dac. On peut ainsi bénéficier de plusieurs qualités d’écoutes en profitant éventuellement juste de l’équaliseur du WiiM en écoutant un cd. Le dac du WiiM est court-circuité si on passe en mode lecteur/WiiM/dac Rega, mais pas l’équalisation. Les audiophiles aiment bien s’amuser avec ces bricolages ! Plus sérieusement la visée audiophile des concepteurs de ce produit est bien atteinte. D’ailleurs le magazine anglais « What hifi » l’a désigné produit de l’année 2023 dans sa catégorie. Le magazine Audio Science Rewiev, avec un essai plus basé sur les mesures objectives que sur les qualités audiophiles, confirme que le ramage se rapporte au plumage (ce qui n’est pas toujours le cas en hi-fi, où on peut avoir de bonnes mesures et une musicalité pas à la hauteur ou l’inverse) : "Le WiiM Pro Plus corrige la plupart des inconvénients du Pro original, le plus important étant les performances globales, et spécifiquement les performances analogiques. C'est peut-être maintenant l'un des meilleurs streamers autonomes de mesure, et certainement le meilleur à ce prix pour l'instant." En streaming on peut bien sûr profiter de la qualité musicale maximale Hi-res en 192 KhZ/24 bits qui est la qualité audio maximale pour le moment. Supérieure à la qualité cd, mais franchement c’est…subtil ! Si vous êtes sur Amazon unlimited et avez un système requis vous pouvez bien sûr passer en Dolby Atmos sur certains albums, la dernière trouvaille pour une écoute « atmosphérique » (mais qui n’apporte rien en terme de musicalité par rapport à une écoute classique avec 2 enceintes ou au casque). Donc une qualité « Bit-perfect » capable de décoder un fichier sans y apporter aucune modification. Conclusion : Au bout d’un mois d’utilisation je n’ai pas eu de bug notable. La mise en route initiale est un peu longue (avec calcul de l’optimisation de la qualité sonore voulue) mais après ce n‘est que du plaisir d’avoir toute la musique du monde à portée d’oreille ! J’ai juste parfois quelques coupures sur l’écoute en 192 KhZ/24 bits, mais c’est dû à la qualité moyenne de mon réseau wifi qui tourne autour des -60. Les câbles optiques et RCA d’origine doivent être changés. Pour ma part je n’ai pas de câbles coûtant plus de 50 euros. Donc ce choix fut difficile et voici pourquoi : - dépendance complète au smartphone ou i-phone...mais c’est bien déjà le cas..toutes générations confondues !e Mais si plus de téléphone...plus de zik si on n’a pas un plan B ! - dépendance à un réseau wifi. - dématérialisation : un cap difficile à franchir pour ma génération qui aime le contact du vinyle ou du cd et lire le contenu des pochettes. C’est vrai que c’est parfois frustrant. Mais on peut obtenir les informations des œuvres sur le net facilement et une mise à jour ultérieure va permettre de profiter de la promise certification « Roon ready ». Et assurément je garde mes vinyles des seventies ainsi que mes cd ! - voir dans le temps le fiabilité d’un produit fabriqué bien sûr en Chine d’une marque récente. - le bénéfice financier ? Ces dernières années je n’achetai qu’environ une dizaine de cd, à 16 euros l’un environ, je ne me ruinais pas. Alors le WiiM reste un investissement non négligeable, rentable seulement si vous écoutez beaucoup de musique. Au total, je trouve cette manière d’écouter de la musique très intéressante d’autant plus que je ne perds rien en qualité sonore. Je pense que ce produit est un excellent choix (il existe un forum d’utilisateurs sur FB et je n’ai encore pas vu de mécontents!).
