Solo II PV – for Solar Panel microgeneration

Nice little unit easy set up, did call the helpline for 1 thing, but replied very quickly. very accurate readings. The box say 1 of 2 but this is only the display unit, I am trying to obtain the bridge unit. as would like web and access from my phone, as the you tube video, but it does not seem to be available. I have sent an email this morning to enquiry there availability.

A good accurate product. If you have a generation or consumption meter that has a LED flashing light, then you must use the PV version. If you have solar panels, the non-PV versions with the clamp do not work, even though GEO say they do! We have solar panels and I had the non-PV version which did not function correctly even though the advert stated it would. Fortunately GEO swapped it over for me and I’m now running one meter on supply, ie the cost, and the other on the generation. All works well and I’m happy except the supplied Velcro is too weak; you’ll need to secure the sensors with gaffer tape. Well worth 5*

Really useful product. Set up and worked straight out of the box. The USB lead that plugs into the 3 pin plug will give false readings if plugged into a USB socket therefore the supplied plug should be used. Having read the reviews about battery life in the transmitter. I removed the batteries and hard wired a comparable 4.5V transformer. This works really well and I no longer have to worry about failing batteries and resetting the monitor.

Looked at several different monitoring systems before deciding to buy this one from geo. Glad I did. Simplicity itself to install, good transmitter range and clear instructions. Started working straight away - well as soon as the sun came up! It doesn't measure consumption, just generation but that's fine for me. Also bought the internet bridge. Again, good instructions, easily paired with the base unit and connected to a spare ethernet port on my router. The online service works well, but it would be nice to have an app for my phone that duplicated the base unit's display. It's a bit tricky to read on small devices.

If you have pv solar panels, say on the roof, this Device is an excellent choice to check the output. This instructions for setting it up are poor but the web site helped me to finish the job of setting the parameters. You get an instant read out of the Kw's being generated so you can switch on appliances accordingly and run them for free. In my case the solar meter is in the garage so the radio wave transmission is limiting the distance I can place the device. I have very thick walls of around 3 feet. This device seems to be the best one available. Before fitting this I had a camera on the inverter panel read out in the loft, this is better because I needed a loft lighting system and I now have kW output for each day + other information.

We have had solar panels now for about ten years. In the passed 6 months the panels stopped working therefore we were not generating any electric. It wasn't until the second time it stopped working when we had to have a new invertor fitted that the guy we bought it from told us about this product. Now we KNOW that our system is working, and if it stopped. As it can cost you a lot of lost revenue when the system isn't working. I would advise anyone with solar panels to purchase this device

This device is amazingly simple to install, just stick it to the flashing LED on the meter, and away you go. Of course you need the batteries for the transmitter and receiver. Then you have all the information you need to see how much power you are generating, or using if you are putting it on your consumption meter. I use them on my solar panel meterSo I have an immediate display of what I am producing from my panels

The produce information does not specifically mention that a socket is required near the installed solar panel meter to power this unit. It also says the unit can be self-installed with no wiring and no stress. Unfortunately I have not got a socket anywhere near the installed solar panel meter and so would require some wiring and involve a lot of stress! The unit has been returned.
