The device functions as expected. However i believe the optical power is 5X

It’s really fine for the price but the lens is plastic and distorted in the center. Obviously if you need to read very small text or view fine details, perhaps for work, you’d be better off spending more money and getting a high quality glass lens. I’ve included an image that shows the distortion so you can see; If your application can tolerate these imperfections, this could be a reasonable choice.

AT this price, I expected this to be poorly made, and it was. Rough edges, poorly fitting parts, rough metal edges, a thin tacky film of greasy substance coating the plastic. The lens has significant chromatic aberration and distortion around the edge. But in particular, the major disappointment was that the magnification was only around 5x -- compared to my Bausch & Lomb 5x loupe.
