Bob The Builder: The Complete First Series [DVD]

I think someone bought my daughter a BtB for her first birthday and shes loved him ever since! Shes coming on to 2 now and she still watches all of her BtB DVDs avidly.This DVD has loads of good episodes but I will say that that the scripts and dialogue arent anywhere near as polished as the more recent ones and there are hints that the writers werent 100% sure about how to write for very young children at the start. (Hence the 1 dropped star)As an adult who first had to watch the Bobs Big Plan episodes I found it quite interesting to see how it all began and the hints that there might be a love interest with Wendy gave me a good chuckle considering the intended audience age.For a first time buyer of Bob the Builder, I'd recommend trying your child on a later one (Bobs Big Plan for instance) and if you then feel you want them to have a bumper pack get this DVD as theres 13 episodes on it.

Great DVD at a more than reasonable price.- the episodes are relatively short (15 minutes) so you can easily limit television exposure- no violence and sound values- themes, vocabulary, theme song and characters are ideal for preschool aged children- not too annoying for parents and relatively visually pleasing- my son loves it!

We bought this for our grandson who has become an avid fan of Bob the builder. Each episode is just right for the attention span of a two year old and is pitched at the correct level. Our grandson doesn't seem to tire of seeing the same ones over and over again although both grandparents feel they are 'Bobbed out'!The only downside we have found is that the DVD is not very user friendly and initially it was not obvious how to select a new episode. Nevertheless the cost of the DVD was very competitive and has been a great success.

Have several Bob compilation videos for our 2.5 year Son which he watches daily and so decided to buy a dvd (so we don't have to constantly rewind the 45 min videos!). Went for the complete 1st series rather than one of the triple packs and glad we did. About half of the episodes on the dvd he had already on the various videos so doubling up, but I think this would have been same if had bought the triple pack dvd sets, perhaps moreso. On this basis I'll continue to buy each complete series in preference to multipacks which will also no doubt duplicate episodes on each other. Of course it was a great buy, our Son won't watch anything other than Bob anyway! Excellent price and value for money. Only reason I've not given it 5 stars is no continuous random play option on the dvd..but hey, my Son doesn't care about that, he'll happily watch the episodes in correct order time after time, and I'm sure he'd give it 5 stars! Excellent value for money without a doubt.

Child is obsessed with bob the builder lol

Bright, cheerful and full of action, with memorable characters of all the vehicles. The catchy song, 'Bob the Builder' is repeated so the little ones can learn and if you need to put subtitles on to learn the words with them. The only real criticism is the annoying way of having to go through a long process of going from one episode to another, not good for Mums and children.

Our grandson loves these DVDs as dose grandad !!!
