Automatic bin lid didn’t last for 1 year
Overall bin was very good and 50L good capacity. Automatic bin lid didn’t even last for 1 year and stopped working. Replacement bin lid is costing nearly £33. No spare motor for infrared is available so far.

Great bin... pricey, but worth it! :)
I love this bin! It’s pretty good looking for a bin too! I don’t actually use the hands free opening sensor as I have it right next to my back door and it would probably open every time my dog needed to go for a wee, but it’s brilliant anyway! I just bought it because it’s slimmer than the usual pedal bins but also big enough so that you don’t have to empty it every 5 mins!

Lovely Bin - However Broke After 6 Months
The bin is lovely! The batteries last for a while and although the door doesn’t stay open for long (no way to change the timer) its a great addition to our kitchen! However after 6 months the bin stopped working but we received a replacement from Amazon with no problem or questions asked. Altogether lovely bin, a bit hard to clean around the lid area but good!

Appalling customer service if faulty!
I have had this product just over a year before a fault with the sensors. The lid does not open now and so basically a useless item you have to pry the lid up to use. I contacted Morphy Richards on a number of occasions who forward me to the supplier of this item (basically they stick the Morphy Richards name on it) I have contacted the company many times now in 8 months and 8+ emails, and still have a faulty bin no warranty replacement, and I'm now being ignored! I don't recommend this product as any type of moisture in the bin will ruin the electionics, it's not water resistant. One email stated any moisture in the bin will damage it, ???? It's a bin some things you place in a bin will have moisture! Unbelievable, also the process to report a warranty claim is made as difficult as possible ( probably hoping you'll give up trying) In my experience now with Morphy Richards I will not buy another product of there's, and I do own a few items. Morphy Richards/Glen Dimplex Consumer Appliances/ RKW the company who manufacturer the bin and who cover all warranty's! ( but do not seem to care ) be prepared to deal with all these! Nothing in reply from this RKW at all!! Update 30/01/2024. This product is now at the local dump. Not fixed no emails to follow up my last contact. Replaced now at my cost for a normal pedal bin, at least my foot won't go wrong!! Useless customer service highly let down by Morphy Richards!

Excellent product
Perfect bin. I already had the same in cream and bought this colour for the recycling. I’ve had the cream one for five years, still as good as new and only changed the batteries twice.

I like this product - but I'll never buy it again.
There are some things I like about this bin. The sensor opening generally works well. It opens quickly when it detects movement in front of it and closes automatically shortly afterwards. The opening is great. The closing however tends to happen rather too quickly and often when you are still putting things in the bin, for example if you are scraping the contents of a saucepan into the bin. It is useful being able to use it if your hands are full or dirty. Another thing I like is the way the bag is held. There is a plastic hoop that fits around the rim of the bin after you put the bag in. Then you drop the lid on top. This works really well - holding the bag securely even when it is getting full/heavy. OK so the disadvantages.... first is the size of the opening. Its 6 inches front to back. That is almost exactly half the bin I had previously, a cheap plastic flip bin. That doesn't make any difference if you are throwing away an apple core but scraping the aforementioned saucepan is now much more difficult. Food waste ends up hitting the bin mechanism. Secondly the bin is mostly metal with a plastic base. As soon as a bag leaks you have a problem. Rinsing a cheap plastic bin is easy - throw in some boiling water, even a bit of bleach if you like. This bin isn't even watertight so the first time I tried that I got boiling water on my toes. Its also a lot slower and more difficult to dry out after a clean. Of course this might apply to any metal bin. Finally there is the bins longevity. I had my cheap plastic bin for about 10 years before someone broke the lid. This bin has now stopped working after 2 months. Probably got some water into the lifting mechanism when cleaning the lid. Was it my fault? Probably. Did the instructions tell me not to get the lid wet? Probably. Could I fix it if I took it to bits? Probably. Am I going to waste my life trying to fix the bin lid? No. I'm going to find a cheap plastic one.

Tidy kitchen bin
Bought this auto bin to replace an earlier model made by Morphy Richard’s we bought in a discount store a few years ago. After faithful service electrics got frazzled after the kid was dropped in a sink full of water whilst cleaning. The new model we have had for about 8 weeks now and it is performing well. Move your hand across the sensor up pops the lid, drop the rubbish in and off you pop. Not faffing about with pedals or putting you grubby hands on a grubby lid. Nice clean and easy to use. Be careful not to throw away the bag spacer when taking the bag out. We’ve not had this trouble, but then we are quite fastidious. Disinfected wipe keeps it clean and looking clean and fresh. All in all a nice addition to the kitchen. Not regretted this purchase.

Abit annoying
I use this for my kitchen It's a good size and does not leave finger prints. The only dislike is that the sensors open the bin when your standing near it and not using it! I have a small kitchen so it fits lovely under my worktop. Abit expensive for what it is, I had it for 3 months let's see! Otherwise brilliant you don't have to touch the lid to open.
