These are the best, easiest and most consistently successful mousetraps. We have mice getting into our house somehow despite our best efforts to foam seal all gaps etc, so need some way to catch the little devils. I hate killing them but they can’t be in my house, and unfortunately mice can’t read a “keep out” sign. Snap traps are humane but unfortunately we also have curious cats and dogs so can’t use regular snap traps as they may injured said pets, not to mention us or an unaware guest from accidentally disturbing the trap and snapping a toe or finger ;). Sticky traps are horrifically cruel and essentially slowly starve and suffocate the animal so are not an option. Same for the water bucket type where the mouse slowly drowns.These live traps are wonderful. They are safe to others, reliably catch the mouse, and allow us to then relocate him elsewhere far enough that he can’t find his way back. Maybe they don’t survive then either but at least they get a fair chance. It’s not really their fault they were looking for a warm shelter in my house. We use sunflower seeds for bait, piled on the plate behind the trigger.You do need to check the trap daily otherwise just as cruel as the other methods, and potentially educates other mice to avoid it if they have the opportunity to see the mouse trapped. They are not brainiacs but they are not stupid.

Nice trap, well made easy to use, had a female move into the basement and had pups now im trying to catch them all, reg old snap traps worked at first but rats are smart and quick learners have to try everything!!! Poison, snap traps and live traps, buckets with tilt lids and....sticky ones barely ever work on Rats. But Very happy with these Live traps.

A couple of rats (not mice) have been tunneling in our chicken pen and making a mess of it. We set this trap just outside of the chicken pen. This trap works better than the kill traps we have, possibly because the rats picked up on how dangerous the kill traps were after one of them was caught in it. Moreover, I had to put the kill traps under a crate to prevent accidental injuries to other animals, so they weren't as readily accessible to the rats. The kill traps only caught a single rat during about a week of use.By contrast, these have made two catches, averaging about a catch per day. They're easy to set, they work, and they're strong enough to hold a full-grown rat. Plus, they're reasonably safe around kids, pets, and livestock. I don't have to worry about my cat, chickens, or dog getting poisoned or injured by the trap.The only reasons I gave four stars instead of five were:1) The trap could use a handle for easier/safer carrying with a trapped animal.2) One of these arrived with what looked like some kind of residue on the pedal. It made me wonder if someone used the trap and then returned it to the company. While the trap was going to be used outside, the idea of possibly dealing with someone else's leftover juices from a dead rodent wasn't appealing. I tried not to think about it as we set the trap.

Worked great! Caught the rat on the first night of setting it out. Used cheese and grapes.

Easy to use, and they really work. We caught 9 rats so far in one week! Very easy to load with bait and to release the rat.

Best trap ever, I would give it 10 stars if possible. 8 chipmunks and 2 mice in 24 hours!! Ordering 2 more today
