Easy to setup and use!
Excellent product for the price, worked straight away with my arduino using a simple code sketch. I used them in so many designs it's invaluable to me! Anyone who's into coding should get one!

VERY PLEASED WITH THIS UNIT
This "KEYES" type handset was used when I started looking at building a remote control buggy using Arduino Uno. It worked well and I appreciated the lack of clutter on a second hand tv remote as well as its very low price.

No Battery Inlcuded!
This arrived today, and I was pretty surprised to find that the button cell battery (CR2025) wasn’t included! So I’ve no idea how well it works, as I’ve now got to got the added expense of buying a pack of batteries and waiting for them arrive (let’s be honest, most of us don’t keep these things to hand, like we do AA’s!). So all in all, pretty poor value for money, as no battery included, given the device itself is pretty flimsy.

Super Easy to Use
Actually super easy to use once you track down the documentation online. The best doc I found can be traced by searching for 'infrared receiver module tinkbox pdf' in Google. It has sample code showing you how to read the Hex codes from the keys, and a sample program showing how to detect input. YOu will need the IRremote Arduino library to use it, but that can be found and downloaded easily enough from Github. To find it, search 'Arduino-IRremote' in Google. You will be up and using it in about 5 minutes after you get the library installed. A really nice touch is that the receiver has a small light which flashes when it receives data, so you know it's operating correctly.

The remote pad didn’t work probably because the battery holder wasn’t good enough
The key pad didn’t work but the sensor did which was what I wanted

All in all its not bad for the price
I bought this to switch a relay to turn lights on and off. After struggling to get consistent readings I positioned the receiver module away from the windows and any direct light and found that the readings were much more consistent. It also helps to use the control in direct line of sight and not try to use it at an angle (If that makes sense). All in all its not bad for the price.
