Good quality pencil
It’s a great quality pencil for it level… it is not a high-end artist, pencil, or a mid grade budget pencil but nonetheless, the colors are vibrant. Love the color palette…

Good value
Nice pencils for the price. Harder lead and hold a point.

A joy to color with
These are not oil based but a more wax based pencil and you use a more pressure based method for color variation and shading as opposed to a blending stump or pencil as you would with oil based pencils.. That said I enjoy the difference between the types of pencils and these are nice. Cores are intact when sharpening the pencils and colors are vibrant

Excellent pencils
I waited awhile to do this review because I wanted to get some use from the pencils. I swatched them on regular printer paper because I made my own swatch sheets awhile ago. I have used these pencils now on coloring books from publishers (I don't buy self-published coloring books here on AMAZON) and I have used them on my own ink line drawings on Strathmore sketch pads with quality paper. The pencils are really nice - they lay down well,, and they blend well. I use them in conjunction with my Staedtler Norris because the Staedtler are useful for tiny detail and skinny areas like script. These Faber-Castell pencils do the details well too if at a nice point. I get a bit lazy about sharpening. The 60 colors have a good variety of shades and a nice complement of greens. I love the greens. Some pencil sets have way too many neutrals and darks. These have just what you need, at least for me. I prefer Staedtler and Faber-Castell rather than the cheap stuff like Kalour etc. which appears to be all from the same factory no matter the weird brand names they give them. Next I would like to get and try the Jolly brand. :) I do recommend these Faber-Castell as a fine brand at a great price. I have lots of Prismacolor premiers too and have to have some pencils that aren't as soft as my Prismas.
