APC Smart-UPS 1000VA/600W Rackmount UPS, Line Interactive, SMC1000-2UC

TLDR: It's properly installed and happily running my gear. This is an edited review because I received the unit with two right side mounting brackets. I called APC, sent them some pictures, and they promptly sent me some new mounting hardware. The customer service was fast, professional, and effective. Sure, I wish I hadn't needed customer service, but they made it as painless as possible. As for the unit itself, I can't say that it has been put to the test except for a few minutes while I moved the rack from one room to another. No problems and it did what it was supposed to do. I'm pretty happy with it. The unit is currently not hooked to the network. I'll do that eventually, but only after setting up a subnet that isolates the unit from the rest of the network. No need to risk any weirdness that may try creeping in via the UPS. I hear it requires an open port, which is no bueno. Luckily, my firewall and managed switches can handle that easily. I'm not sure if I'd connect it to my network if I couldn't isolate it and safely route that open port.

This APC UPS is a solid choice for keeping your critical equipment running smoothly. It provides reliable power protection during outages and handles minor voltage fluctuations seamlessly. The software is easy to use and gives you good control and monitoring options. While it's not the cheapest option, the peace of mind it provides is worth the investment, especially if you rely on your electronics for work or entertainment.

Just purchased this unit for my network rack. Plugged in my Router/Gateway, 24port POE switch, NAS and my iMac. 28 percent load and gives me around 45-50 minute runtime with what I have plugged in. Installation was easy. As one other user said, best to remove the battery before settling it into the rack. Takes a lot of weight off. Once on rack, plugged in the battery, all my equipment and powered up. No issues and unit seems to be solidly built. Amazon delivered this to me quickly through Prime.

Installed this in my home theatre rack. It was exactly what I needed to protect my AV equipment. I've trusted APC to protect my computers for decades.

Excellente product

I've used APC UPSs for close to 20 years. I'm done. This is my second UPS from them that just "clicked" to a dead b.04 error a few months after warranty expiration. All of the features you'd expect with a more expensive rack UPS are locked behind a subscription. It also hard overload shutdown during the only time when I had an additional device hooked up for a data restore. It was drawing a load of 600-700w, which shouldn't happen on a 1000w ups. I didn't think too much of it at the time since the normal load had no problems, but that shows underlying flaws. I had never looked into this before today, but APC was purchased by Schneider, and the products that came out afterward are the ones I've had problems with.

This thing is nothing but a headache. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
