Excellent basic system to warn of leaks
Very well executed set; worked for me when there was water on the floor; easy to set up and lots of options; well designed reasonably priced; I recommend it and bought a second set.

Very Sensitive and Alerts when there’s even a small problem!
I’ve had this item since August. And it’s let me know when my washer was leaking, and battery is still at 90% range. Tonight our sewer backed up into the house, and because of the sensitive sensors, we knew the moment it happened and we were able to call a plumber very quickly. Get these if you are looking for a good sensor!! The app is user friendly as well, and they are super easy to set up.

Don't consider any other leak detector over this one!
I can't begin to tell you the stress I have over leak detectors. I bought a D-LINK several years ago that was impossible to set up and as of 2023, the company decided that they weren't going to support the product anymore. This left countless owners out in the cold with an app that no longer supported their detector. So, I had to consider finding a new leak detector system. And, let me tell you, it wasn't an easy task. I poured through more than a dozen such detectors on Amazon reading reviews that didn't convince me there was any reliable enough system worth investing my money in... ...that is until I came to X-Sense. There were some very encouraging Amazon reviews touting this as the best product of its kind with ease of setup and exceptional performance for indicating water leakage. Let me tell you, this product exceeded ALL expectations. To begin with, I was fearing the setup process knowing what I had gone through when I set up my D-LINK. Shortly after purchase, the manufacturer sent me an email with a link to an online doc with what I am assuming was an updated installation guide. This was something I very much appreciated as it showed that the manufacturer was still taking an interest in making certain that its customers had a favorable installation experience. And get this...installation took under 7 minutes and it was completely effortless and flawless. The big thing to keep in mind when installing is that this won't connect to a 5GHz network, which is what most home routers are outputting. To get around this, all you need to do is create a guest network that generally broadcasts in the preferred 2.5 GHz band that this device needs to connect to. I started with the base installation and which took less than a minute to complete. You simply download the X-Sense app and it walks you through the process. After that, adding any one of the 3 satellite leak detectors takes even less time. You push a button and it connects to the base station. We have a very large home and I was very happy to see that the signal range in which the base and satellites communicate with each other is pretty immense. There has been no problem with a signal loss between devices. Once everything was connected I did a quick test where I placed one of the satellite detectors in my sink and ran a small stream of water. As soon as the water hit the sensors on the bottom of the detector, a loud alarm on the base station went off and a notification was sent to my iPhone. WOW! Could it be THIS EASY? I have never seen something like this come together so easily. It was so effortless to set this up. What you get in the box are one base station and 3 satellite detectors. You also get a power cord and brick for the base station. I would advise centralizing the base location in your home. The app is very good with one major annoyance that has been talked about in other reviews here. The plus is that the app is well laid out and easy to use. It offers a terrific one-glance look at your activated system, its online status, and battery levels. And speaking of batteries, they are easily replaceable. On the downside, I wish the developer would update the app so users are not annoyed by the advertisement to purchase extra protection. It's fine to read about it once, but I shouldn't have annoying reminders pop up when using the app. It's really ruining a perfect experience. Perhaps in an update, the software developer can fix this. Other than that, I am just ecstatic about this purchase. I still can't believe it took mere minutes to set everything up without any of the errors and hassles one expects from these products. If you are looking for the perfect leak detector system, I can't fathom you can do any better than this at the approx. $50 price point.

Audio alert cannot be disabled
The water leak detector base and sensors are easy to setup. The app works well, but there is no way to disable the alarm sounds on the base or sensors. You can reduce the volume and turn off the voice alerts, but they will still cause a rude awakening if they go off in the middle of the night. I called X-Sense support and confirmed this. You will have to open each one and unplug the little speaker. The app notifications/emails still send ok. Plus you still get the led alert on the top of the base. Other than that, they tested well with putting water on the sensors. The mobile app alerts are good enough for my needs without an audio beep in my house. Be sure to mark the sensors as you setup and name them or you will lose track of what you named it in the app. The sensors have two regular AAA batteries pre-installed. Not sure how long they will last. I'll have to climb up into the attic when the Low Battery alert is received.

Saved Me Thousands $$$$$
My husband and I were first time homeowners and purchased a house with one side of the basement fully finished. I was paranoid about our basement flooding and my dad had put water sensors in our basement as a kid. I purchased these because I loved that it connected to our phone in case something happened while we were at work. I also loved that it had a hub as well since I wasn’t sure how loud the sensors would be in the basement. A few months after buying our house I was taking a shower and suddenly our water sensors started going off in the basement and our hub as well. We went downstairs and found water was coming up through the floor drain the basement on the unfinished side. We found out later there were tree roots in our pipes. It took us a little while to get the roots cleaned out so the alarms did go off several other times and saved us from potentially having to gut our entire basement. They were easy to set up and having multiples made it so we could set up around the floor drain in case there were any other issues. Very functional and has great range being connected to WiFi. I will say in the winter months when it was really cold outside we did get some faulty alarms a couple times and with a quick google search found that it’s common on concrete floors on really cold nights.

Get One Before You Need It!
It took a loose P-trap connection under the kitchen sink for us to appreciate the value of leak detectors. Yes, it can happen to you, too. After soaking up the mess, I started shopping for a detector, looking for a simple solution. This X-Sense Model SWS54 Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector looked right. It is claimed to have a 1700 ft transmission range from the sensors to the Base Station, and included three Water Detectors. And, you can download a Wi-Fi app on your phone that receives any alarms and can control the system. The three white detector "discs" are small (about 3" x 3/4") and have water detectors on the bottom and the top to sense drips even before water has accumulated under the detector. The base unit plugs into the wall and the detectors each have two AAs. The alarms, on the phone through the app or from the base unit, are LOUD. The instructions are straight forward and operation is simple. Just be sure to learn early on how to turn the alarm off. It would be very unpleasant hearing that while you are mopping up a minor flood.

Should be as standard as Smoke alarms
Moved my washing machine from the basement to the second floor and I got this for peace of mind. Literally the day after I put a sensor near it, the sensor went off. Sure enough there was a hole in the drain hose (probably from the move) and it alerted the base station and my phone just as intended. I have 4 sensors around the house. Very easy to setup. Great peace of mind for $50.

These are great and I highly recommend them.
These are AMAZING! They work super fast, are about 1/2 the size of an hockey puck in all dimensions and have saved us from water damage when we were out and a very violent thunderstorm hit and leaked water through the basement window well. I was notified immediately about the leak, and was able to get home and get the water sucked up with a shop vac before any damage occurred. I’ve had them for over a year, they’ve gone off twice, preventing problems both times and the batteries are still fine. I have one sensor neat that window, and another near the hot water tank. These sensors replaced older ones that would only sound a local buzzer, which was hard to hear upstairs, let alone wouldn’t give any notification away from the house. Those old ones used a 9v battery that needed to be changed yearly. I would highly recommend these X-Sense water leak detectors, as well as their line of Wi-Fi connected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, which also work well and provide remote notifications. I trust these so much that I’ve bought these for both my daughter’s house and my father’s apartment.
