A handy general purpose prop-it-up stand with tons of uses
I'm really pleased with this clever little stand, which I've found out is actually available in two different handy sizes. The larger size is about 5.5 inches long and is great for propping up the back of a laptop on a desk or table, which makes for more ergonomic typing and much cooler operation. The smaller size, at 3.93 inches in length, is just right for smaller jobs like propping up the back of a phone or small tablet for better multimedia viewing - or in my case - for propping up the front of my smaller QRP Ham Radio Sets during field operation to make the front panel display easier to see and the controls easier to access. Some of the lower review scores seem to result from folks unexpectedly getting the smaller size, so make sure to order the size you will find most useful. The Steepy's support arms have been cleverly configured at slightly offset angles so that there are actually SIX ways to side-to-side orient the Steepy depending on the job at hand, 3 different heights x 2 different left to right orientations. Basically, at each of 3 heights, you can twirl the Steepy around 180 degrees left-to-right so that the side-to-side upper support arm either leans slightly towards you, or slightly away from you, which can help improve support depending on your application. For example, contrary to some of the promo pics in the Amazon listing, I have found that when propping up the REAR of a laptop you will most likely want the Steepy oriented so its upper support arm is ANGLED SLIGHTLY FORWARD (not leaning away as shown). That way when you prop your laptop on it, the Steepy will be leaning into the underside of the laptop at a better angle giving more stable support. This orientation change (sloping-forward or sloping-back), is easily handled as you set the Steepy down. For example, when I prop up the FRONT of one of my HAM radios, I flip the Steepy around left to right so its vertical support is leaning slightly AWAY from me (which is leaning INTO the underside of the radio it's supporting). This is a neat feature since one orientation generally works better when propping up the BACK of something like a laptop or tablet, where the other way around seems to work best when when propping up the FRONT. Occasionally, this rule may be reversed if the device has a ridge or slot along its underside that gives the Steepy better grip and stability in the opposite orientation, but this is easily checked since, worst case, you can just quickly flip the Steepy around and check out all SIX orientations and note the one that works best. The Steepy is a fairly simple item, and at first I thought the price was (no pun intended) just a little steep, but the quality metal construction and clever flexible design have made a believer out of me. No doubt, I will still be finding new uses for these handy little stands years from now (long after the devices I am currently using them with have gone to electronic recycle), and that makes them a great value; now, and for years to come!

Exactly what I was looking for. Tiny and perfect
I really liked this product. Finally a laptop stand that doesn't take up any space in my laptop bag, and it works perfectly. I wish I would have bought a 3d printer and thought of this because man what a great little product. Worth the money honestly.

Tiny but does the job
I'll start with the cons because I didn't read carefully enough and was surprised by the actual size of the device, because the photos make it seem much bigger. Size not withstanding, it works as stated. Cons: 5.5" in length! I have small hands and it isn't as long as my hand, or 1/3 the width of my 16.9" laptop. So I have to very carefully place it in the very center, or my typing on the laptop keyboard will make it wobble. Luckily I bought two... when lined up with a ruler, they work great together. But "so much for using them with separate laptops at the same time-- my other laptop is a 17" Pros: It DOES raise the laptop up for much better air flow. It IS lightweight. It IS small and easily carried. And with careful placement under my big laptops, it does stably raise the laptop. I haven't tried using it as a prop for my tablet yet. Weirdly, I find the highest angle the most stable, or maybe I just found the balance point and sweet spot. Over all I would recommend this riser but the pictures are misleading about the size of the device-- READ the information carefully so that you are not surprised by just how tiny it actually is. Update: I ended up taping the two risers together end to end for my own piece of mind and then noticed that it really resembled a 3-sided scale drafting/architectural ruler.

Great Product, light weight, well made.
Great little, light weight riser that I can use for my small 13" laptop to allow air flow as well as more comfortable typing. I purchased the smaller version of the Steepy Portable stand. I have used the sticky feet in the past on my older laptops, but I like this being separate instead of glued on. Just my personal preference. Does seem a bit overpriced, but what doesn't seem overpriced anymore. I like how the Steepy has different elevations depending on which way you lay it on your table/desktop. It works well under my husbands 17" laptop. I am glad I didn't buy the larger one, but again that would be personal preference.

This costs too much but it's not a bad product
I mean this for 20 bucks is pretty crazy. I like that it has 3 different heights, it has rubber feet, it is sturdy enough that I trust my gaming laptop on it, but having a small area to hold up a heavy laptop does make me a little nervous for the laptop, and this really should not cost 20 dollars. If someone got this for me as a gift I'd be appalled that they paid 20 dollars for it. Why I paid that much for it? I don't know, but I like the product, just not at this price.

Works great.
Noticeably lower temps and steadier frame rates while gaming. The incline is mild enough that it doesn’t make my wrist hurt during prolonged use. If I had to find any fault in it, I do wish it was a bit wider. When setting it up I do need to make sure it’s either centered or biased a little to the left where I rest my hand over the wasd keys to prevent the laptop tipping. That said, it’s still very stable if you take that extra second of care to properly place it. This is on a pretty standard sized 15.6” screen laptop.

Lasted 5 months and then rubber fell off....
In theory, I loved this the first month. It took a bit to balance the laptop on the side most comfortable for my wrists (and it IS GREAT there are different heights). But then one of the rubber pieces came off and now, all three of them don't stay on. It goes in the same bag, so usually I can find them, but each time they fall off and I put them back on, they get just a little stretched out. Super disappointed in the product. If it was $5 and lasted less than 5 months I'd say, got what I paid for. But alas, it was not. Poor quality, poor value for the money, poor sturdiness, poor everything.

Great portability
Small but just at as effective as more cumbersome alternatives.

Just ok
A good idea for an unobtrusive little riser that helps keep things cooler. Unfortunately, it's about an inch too small to be truly easy to use. My personal laptop has a small ledge on the bottom that the Steepy just bridges making for a fairly secure position but it is difficult to seat there. My smaller work laptop has no such ledge and placing the Steepy for a stable set up takes multiple attempts. Additionally, the rubber edges will come off due to the heat from your laptop, making it difficult to adjust position. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this product unless your laptop is very stationary. Would welcome a slightly larger version, preferably with some additional cooling slots/holes and more secure rubber footings, even it it costs more.
