Device works perfectly when I looked at the back where the connection cord is located
I was getting ready to return this item as it did not work on my MacBook Air with only "C" input available. The box comes with USB on one end and a C connector on the other. It didn't work. Today I happened to look on the back side of the device and there was a cord hard wired and the other end with both USB and C..Plugged in the C end and now it works perfectly. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Not Mac compatible
Would give it zero, if I could. I put a CD in the drive. I saw all of the songs. I tried to load them in Music, and the drive just shut down. Apple Support was no help at all. This does NOT work with Sequoia or either of our Mac Minis. It's also noisy and physically unstable. It jumps around on the desk.

Flawless to use!
Oh my goodness so easy just plug in the back of my iMac and a way I went. Got to see all my photos on my CDs and even some for my friends in Japan. The ones from Japan, I had to go in and change the country to Japan, but it was so easy. I watched the video before I bought this and it was very informative and she used it on an iMac, so I figured it would work and it did flawlessly.

Not a bad buy!
It seems fairly easy to use. Not the best quality picture. It was purchased to see old videos on my computer and it is fine for that but watching a movie leaves much to be desired. it can not be used in a multiple cable tower. It needs to be connected to the devise of choice.

Didn't work on MacBook Pro w/ MacOS Sequoia
Fails on 2019 MacBook Pro running Sequoia. I bought this to read an audio CD with family recordings sent by an uncle. The unit loads and ejects the CD okay, and it shows the contents of the CD, but it utterly fails to play or copy the audio files using either the Finder or Music apps. Instead it freezes up in the middle of a copy operation. I tested it on some other ('known good') CDs with similar failed results.
