Avoid, avoid avoid -- been nothing but a waste of time and time. Quite literally the opposite of convenience
My father bought a SIM card directly from this company with a value worth $30+. He called the company before he left to get assurances that it would work when he arrived. "Yes, yes, of course," said the outsourced Indian customer service. When he landed and put it into his phone at LHR, guess what: it didn't work. It's not a simple "plug and go" as they'll have you believe. As someone who has routinely swapped out SIM cards whilst traveling and has a pile of them, I found this to be the most convoluted and broken set up process I've ever seen for a SIM. Once he arrived to my house and I managed to set it up (again, was confusing at first), I only had access to 3G and even that barely worked half the time. I'm still not entirely sure if I managed to get data working since it was so slow and non-functioning that I had to rely on tube Wi-Fi most the time. As I've been revising, I've been indoors almost all day for the past few days and haven't left except to run to Tesco around the corner. I've been connected to reliable and fast Wi-Fi 24 hours a day, yet somehow, my SIM card completely drained from over $30 credit to $0 in only 3 days. Again: whilst connected to Wi-Fi and making zero calls or texts. I've never seen anything like it as someone who's had over 10 SIMs from companies around the world. The whole point of "WorldSIM" is to make travel easy and convenient with cellphone plans, but this has been anything but. I cannot overstate how terrible of a deal this is and how much of an utter waste of time and money this has been. For only ยฃ15, you could get practically unlimited data and calling from any of the cell providers, in addition to a SIM which they'll set up. Cell provider stores can be found at Heathrow arrival terminals, and if they're closed, there's also plenty of SIM card vending machines around. Terrible, terrible customer service and overall product.
