Can you use Amazon Echo as hub or it needs an Aqara hub?

Your question isn’t very clear, but most Aqara devices need a Aqara Hub like this one to work with you smart network. An Amazon echo would only serve as a hub for your network I believe, where the Aqara Hub would connect to.

What's the difference between the gen 1 and this gen 2 m1s hub?

The 2nd generation allows you to upload custom audio for use in ringtones and automations.

How do you set up the hub without HomeKit? It says it supports IFTTT, but I'm stuck in setup because it's requiring access to HomeKit.

I used HomeKit to set mine up but I think you can use the Aqara app or Amazon Echo

الهب لا يعمل بالرغم من البحث الطويل في كل طرق تشغيله على النت وبالرغم من مخاطبة دعم الشركة ورغم أني جربت ثلاثة أجهزة مختلفة أشعر بإحباط شديد. الجهاز بعد النجاح في التثبيت الأولي ، إلا أنه يحصل له انقطاع عن العمل بعد بضع ثوانٍ، مما يتطلب إعادة ربطه بـ HomeKit لكي يعمل ولكن بعد ثوان أخرى يعود للانقطاع. حاولت تحديث برنامج التشغيل بدون أي جدوى؛ تظهر لي رسالة "الخادم مشغول" باستمرار وخاطبت الشركة لحل مشكلة تحديث البرنامج فلم يردوا. حاولت تغيير الراوترات والشبكات، وقمت بتثبيت الهب في الأصل على شبكة 2.4 GHz وخصصت له موديم كامل خاص. من تجربتي، هذا الهاب غير موثوق مطلقا ولا أنصح به أبدا.
