Been using one year, awesome box. Holds 40 pounds of ice, with room for eight beers.
The picture shows 20 pounds of block which you can lay on top of one another and the lid closes. PRO TIP, put your ice in another thin flexible cooler like shown and it will stay this way for six days at 90ยฐ daytime high, currently, itโs about 80ยฐ for a high here and this 20 pounds has been lasting me EIGHT DAYS, even with quite a bit of lid opening. KEEP IT FULL So when you open it, not much air gets recycled inside, consider laying bubble wrap atop everything. Keep the ice in that second cooler everything else surrounding it still stays cool enough for meat and milk, and dry. I live out of my truck on voyages for months at a time, and in the mojave desertโฆthis is a time-tested set up. FOR THE MFR, guys, please make an access hole in the top about 6 in.ยฒ so we donโt have to open the whole lidโฆ Heck, I could probably get two weeks or more of ice that way, i even thought-about cutting a hole, if it wasnโt a $350 cooler. And it would be easier to get into without having to move things for the lid to hinge all the way up. HEY ORCA, also you should make slightly different sizes with the same volume, a more narrow longer box would work for some, why make just one size as coolers need to fit in specific places. Make one shorter and fatter too

Did my research and chose Orca
I needed a cooler to keep food items for long road trips. I considered all options. In the end, I decided that Orca had the best product and that, of all the coolers I looked into, the Orca 40L was the very best. Some of the reviews mentioned shoddy construction and others wrote that the product arrived in a broken state. I concluded that these were isolated issues and if I were so unlucky, I would rely on Amazon return policy for remedy. The cooler arrived in perfect condition. And, like in the tests, it kept ice for 7 days. For this degree of performance you need to pre-cool items put into the cooler and use cold ice โ but thatโs true for any cooler. The Orca is made in the USA, itโs less expensive than any comparable product, and is rock solid. It has two rope handles with grips, a well designed drain plug, a full seal (there was no intentional break in the seal for vapor lock), pads on the bottom, mesh storage. Itโs lockable. The lid seems to have an internal spring that engages when about halfway open and the lid will remain open if you push it past 90 degrees. You can sit/stand on it w/o issue. The official product dimensions on the Orca site were precise. You will not be disappointed with this cooler.

So far, great.
Used on a 3 day camping trip in the desert where temps ranges from mid 80s to low 40s. It was packed to the brim with food and we only needed 1 bag of ice the entire trip. Kept it in the shade as much as possible. Still had a third of the cooler full of ice when we arrived home. 4 kids from ages 8 to 12 continuously in and out of it with no issues getting the latch open and closed. It is heavy, but seeing as it's sturdy and insulated so well, I cannot fault it for that. The handles on the side are longer which makes it easier to carry. Overall happy with our purchase. Will update if issues arise with continual use.

Made is the usa by veterans and supports wounded warriors!
This cooler holds Ice as good as more expensive brands made outside the USA. this cooler is made in the USA by american veterans and the company donates to wounded warriors with every purchase. Ror longer ice retention keep in shade and pre cool everything before putting it in the cooler. I is heavy but worth the price.

Great cooler -- much better value for the money than YETI
I read a bunch of online comparisons earlier this summer before buying this 40-quart ORCA. Before my purchase, I was between the ORCA and the YETI, but was suffering from 'sticker shock' over the price of the YETI. It was a bit of a relief to my wallet to see that, in full-on comparisons of quality and functionality, the ORCA came out equal to or even ahead of the YETI in most cases. Price is obviously a big part of the ORCA's appeal. While hardly inexpensive itself, it's still a better value for the money than the YETI (which appears to tack on an extra $100 to the price just for their big-name brand appeal). One other thing I liked better about the ORCA is that the sizing is more accurate. Even YETI retailers I spoke with admitted that the sizing is off on the YETI coolers -- as in, the inner dimensions of their various size of coolers aren't equivalent to the size that they're labeled as. As an example, the inner compartment of this 40-quart ORCA cooler is similar in size to the inner compartment size of YETI's 50-quart cooler. Other than the cost and sizing, the ORCA and YETI coolers are very similar, with: - thick-walled insulation covered in a seamless plastic coating (made to last a lifetime) - tough interlocking hinge - thick rubber lid gasket - non-slip feet - easy-pour drainage spout - heavy-duty rubber latches (ORCA's is in the shape of a whale's tale) Some differences between the two brands: - ORCA's coolers have a handy mesh cargo bag attached to the outside back (YETIs do not) - ORCA's handles are made of durable nylon with a rubber handle (whereas YETIs are rope with a rubber handle) You can also buy ORCA Baskets separately that inset on the top cooler edge for holding things up out of the ice.

Heavy
This is a very well made cooler for all use. We bought it because it was cheaper than a Yeti and equally as well made. Overall these molded coolers are expensive but ours kept all our meat frozen for a drive home from FL. The downside is it starts out heavy and then once loaded with food becomes difficult for one person to carry.

I'm very disappointed with ORCA
I bought this cooler because I was hearing rave reviews. I already have a Yeti 35. I'm very disappointed with ORCA. I pre-treated / pre-cooled the cooler, filled it with cold beers and frozen food. Temp didn't exceed no more that 74 degrees. Within 24 hours, all ice melted. Reached out to seller and voiced my concerns. Have not heard anything back. I'm sticking to my Yeti!

Wonderful product! Met all my expectations
Wonderful product! Met all my expectations. A little pricey but, if you can afford the best, this is it! I added a little (10 lbs.) dry ice and some ice cubes at the bottom of the cooler and the ORCA was like a mini-freezer for three days. After the dry ice was gone, I put more ice cubes in it and it kept bottles of water and beer cold for three more days.
