High Quality Yerba Mate at a great price
I've been drinking Yerba Mate for many years and have tried a number of different brands and types over the years. I used to buy from another company because they offered 5lb bags, but now they do not offer it in bulk so I decided to look around the internet and ended up coming across this brand. For anyone not used to drinking Yerba Mate tea it might seem weird to open up a bag of tea and seeing all sorts of different tea leaves and pieces including stems, but they are all essential for creating a nice smooth and deep flavorful brew. I could tell by the vibrant color of these leaves that the quality was real good. I brew my tea in a french press as opposed to a gourd because it simply isn't practical and I live in the 21st century. Walking around carrying an iPhone and a gourd while sipping tea through a bombilla seems a bit pretentious, but I digress. I tend to brew my tea quite strong to get the maximum flavor and health benefits of the tea and I was quite surprised as to how smooth and flavorful this tea was. Just a quick tip, whether you brew this tea in a press, gourd, cup, old shoe...make sure to let the tea soak in a little bit of cold water to let the tea leaves re-hydrate and "wake up" the flavor before pouring in the hot water. It makes a big difference and helps avoid that burnt flavor that can occur when you shock the tea leaves with boiling hot water. Also, DON'T use boiling hot water. Let the water sit for a little while and cool just a tad before pouring to help avoid that burnt flavor I just talked about...unless of course you like burnt flavor in which case do what you want. I would highly recommend this brand and probably will be ordering from them again in the future. Hope this review helps!

Great price and energizing tea—I drink it every day
Really happy with this Kiss Me Organics Yerba Mate. The price is great for the amount you get, and the quality is solid. I’ve been drinking a cup every morning and it gives me a nice, clean energy boost without the jittery feeling I sometimes get from coffee. It has a smooth, earthy flavor that I’ve come to really enjoy. Definitely a good daily tea if you’re looking for something natural that actually works. Will be reordering!

A lot of tea
I'm someone who really enjoys tea, especially when it is cold outside. The instructions suggested brewing the mate in a gourd, but I didn't have one on hand. I decided to make my yerba mate tea in a coffee pot that has a strainer built into the lid. I poured enough so that it filled just a little over 1/3 of the coffee pot and then poured the hot water inside to steep. While waiting for it to steep, I was faced with figuring out how to store the rest of the yerba mate. I could have done the easy thing and clipped the bag and store it in my tea cabinet, but I was also curious to see just how much mate was left in the bag. I poured the remaining contents of the bag into 2 mason jars - 1 quart and 1 pint jar as pictured. You definitely get a lot of product, which in turn means a lot of freshly brewed yerba mate. Though be cautious as to what kind of strainer you are using to steep the tea. Some of the mate is ground very fine which could ruin your otherwise perfect tea time. Anyways, after I let the mate steep, I poured out a glass. The first glass was dark green with a slight hint of brown - not the most visually appealing tea I've had, but it did smell quite amazing. It had a very strong earthy, almost herbally taste to it. I may have put too much yerba mate for it to come out this strong. I can handle that strong of a tea but I do prefer a slightly more mellow flavor which I achieved after a couple more rounds of hot water in the coffee pot. After it mellowed out, it had a flavor that reminded me of matcha tea which I enjoy. Overall, I enjoyed this yerba mate tea and will continue to drink it when I'm in the mood for green tea.

Left my old brand of Traditional Mate for this one.
I've been drinking mate cosina for about 18 years. I was introduced with a traditional style imported from Uraguay. It was organic and (being traditional) smoked. Before Kiss Me Organics: Tried several popular organic and non-organic brands and finally settled on a brand from my neighborhood in California. It is organic traditional and the company does a lot to assure fair trade and eco friendly practices. It is blended from several countries. I absolutely loved it...until they abandoned me by not returning emails or supporting access to their bulk product. I Googled "yeba mate shortage" and found no such situation, so just bad management on tier part. To My Horror: What I did find was several types cancer linked with smoked mate drinkers in SA. This Brand: So I'm trying different brands to get into an unsmoked mate and I think this product from Kiss Me Organics will work out great. Taste: It is a tiny bit more floral tasting than my longtime brand, but overall a mellow taste as others metioned. It is growing on me. I drink the first cup each day with some soymilk...mate late! I also drink Cocina style it straight later in the day. I haven't tried cold or bombilla yet. Energy: I drink a liter a day and didn't notice any difference in energy over old brand. Organic: I like supporting organic products for myself, the field workers, their families, and their communities. Overall: I think this Mate product will work out great! Request: please consider selling in 1 or 2 Kilo quantities. Thanks!
