Fundamentals of Machine Learning for Predictive Data Analytics – Algorithms, Worked Examples, and Case Studies

Of all the machine learning books I have read to date, I have found this book the most digestible. I like the way the book is structured: information-based learning, similarity-based learning, probability-based learning, error-based learning. Each chapter includes exercises that help reinforce learning but are enjoyable to tackle at the same time. The case studies provide further insights and reinforce the applied approach the book takes to understanding machine learning for predictive analytics.

I've received this book as part of The Analytics Store three day course on Fundamentals of Machine Learning. Both the book and course provide great insight into the role of a data scientist, the preparations required to carry out analytics, and the range of analytic model that can be used. There are plenty of examples and case studies to illustrate, and the material is approachable and very useful as an ongoing reference book.

The fundamentals of ML are excellently presented here with fantastic real world insights and case studies which bring the concepts to life. An essential read for anyone interested in ML.
