Outstanding game
I took a chance on this because I wanted less of a wrath and glory experience and more of a average Joe in 40k and this delivers 100%

A clean and easier game than Dark Heresy
This game is rather fun and unique, as it allows you to RP more sectors of the Imperium than before, while being cleaner than the massive mess that Dark Heresy became before the cleanup of 2nd edition. The book is gorgeous and arrived in great condition with no flaws, can't wait to give this a test drive.

Loving Dark Heresy 3.0
If you've looked into this game at all you've heard it compared to Dark Heresy and those comparisons are true. It's a streamlined version as a spiritual successor. I wouldn't compare it to DnD 3 to 5, instead I would say it's more similar to the shift from DnD to Pathfinder.Anyway, love the new system, I've built a couple one shots using the system and about 10 characters so far, really looking forward to running the system.I can see SO many places this game can go and wonderful supplements that could come out for it, if you were a Dark Heresy fan I would highly recommend this

Solid book dark heresy 3.0?
I played Dark Heresy, Deathwatch, and incorporated Rogue Trader, Black Crusade, and Only War into a 2 year Campaign. This is reminiscent of Dark Heresy in that it uses the same d100 engine and has some similar traits. Dark Heresy was busted in several areas that have been addressed here for example healing is fixed here and runs similar to our house rule. With that said this is Dark Heresy light. Example in Heresy you could make a Cleric who had level based skill trees who could prestige into a Hierophant or inquistor. You could get another book with with battle sisters and make a dozen different kinds of battle sisters. There's so many books and so much depth and so many issues. In this book you have the option to play as a Rogue Trader, Inquistor, Battle sisters, guardsmen, and so much more.If you compared just the core books this book is streamline with a good solid solution for grim dark 40k fix...unless you want to play as a space marine. You play as the grunts of the galaxy in this book. If you played Heresy you know you had garbage stats in the beginning. In this you have more deathwatch compared stats. I feel like Dark Heresy was ment to put you through a meat grinder and if you could survive then you could emerge as a battle hardened inquistor with well earned flaws. This book feels more Hollywood. I rolled up a warrior class that was on par with my deathwatch character in terms of combat effectiveness. It's almost like every pc is a hero and your group is the next super hero mega team. With that said it can be meat grinder in that one solid crit to your pc can be devastating.I want to give this a 5 star review but I can't. It's solidly written and mechanics seem fluid however it's lacking some depth. Cubical 7 said they have more books coming and when they do I'll probably change my mind. I do love this book and it has great potential. At the end of the day it really does feel like Dark Heresy 3.0 with the d100 and degrees of success/failure and it's nice how they incorporated Rogue Trader, Only War, and Heresy into one book.

Better than DH1, Worse than DH2. Too Basic.
This game is frustrating in how overt in its simplicity. The premises is great, and the resources available are equally so, but by detracting the meticulous measures of distance into abstract, damage into a heavier RNG reliant variance, and the removal of Aptitudes form the predecessor, this game has become rather frustrating under certain styles of play. That aside, trying to explain the concept of "negative SL" has led to a constant issue that inevitably reverts back to DoS/DoF instead. The summarize: This game has a great premises, and builds off of a loved mechanical core too. However the direction has led away from the detailed and instead towards the blatantly broad. This has been a great disappointment since the various aspects of DH2, Black Crusade, and even Only War are the reason I loved 40K RPGs. I came into this expecting something similar to the Warhammer Fantasy RPG they made prior (with expectation for equally bad formatting). And while surprised by the better layout, I was just disappointed by the lack of the detailed-oriented combat that helped make all my encounters so memorable years prior. Some people may prefer this simplicity, but there's already enough of it on the market, and seeing it continue into this from disaster that was Wrath & Glory. It has become clear I should wait until Cubicle 7 no longer holds the license and hope for the next holder to do better.
