No, this does not replace a pitching wedge. Pitching wedge is really for 56 degrees and 60 degree max. Here, you are getting 65 degrees and that will get you a flop shot off the turf, but it is really designed for the sand and will get you out of the bunker with help from its great bounce. I would not concern myself with distance, but know that it lands soft with minimum roll out the bunker. Hope this helps?

Thanks to the dynamic loft of the xE1 Wedge, you can put lots of spin on the ball. And because of its unique design, you don't have to open your stance or the club face. Just set up square to the target, take your normal swing, and you can pop the ball high and stop it on the green. The xE1 makes it so easy.

The xE1 is far more superior out of the bunker, and can be used more with a full swing, compared to the Square Strike. The Square Strike, you are really using more with a putter like stroke.
