This piece can ruin your whole system
As per Gardena’s instruction I added one of these drainage valves nicely set in grave into each of my lines (3 pipelines, two with sprinklers and one with access points). The problem is that after one year the valves seem not to seal off properly anymore and the lines build up insufficient pressure (I have the mechanic switch with the Gardena watering computer) - while there is still water coming out there is not sufficient pressure for the switch, so watering computer remains stuck on one zone). I now will have to dig out every single one of them to replace them with a simple connector piece, otherwise the waterlines (material value well around 1,000 GBP) are just a pile of junk in the soil. That is very difficult as some of the lines are running next to the patio and under gravel - will need help from a builder to fix this now.By all means, leave these out and better empty your lines before the first frost mechanically (blowing out). Building these in can be a costly mistake.Gardena should really revise their instructions to put these valves in. Will write to the directly.

Great idea, lousy implementation.
These valves are a great idea, and Gardena is a very reputable make.I'm sure therefore that at *some* point they'll actually get these right ...We needed 3. I have now spent literally months trying to get 3 which will:a) Work out of the packet.b) Still be working a few weeks later. In that time, Gardena have gone through at least 3 visibly different designs, culminating in the latest one which has a little mesh bag to put over the end to keep it clean (Gardena please note, you *really* need to include a cable-tie, or similar, too actually to *hold* the little mesh bag over the end ...). So they're obviously aware there are ... issues.Meanwhile, yet another one I now have to return to Amazon - this latest one, again, faulty out of the packet ...Great idea, lousy implementation.
