We have a cat with some facial trauma and he drools a lot so we were looking for a machine washable bed for him ("delicates" setting seemed okay for us). This works great for him and he also started using it shortly after putting it out for him. We've had a few cold fronts in the area recently and noted he will go into the bed during the colder parts of the day. When we felt inside the bed it was quite warm from his body heat! While I wouldn't recommend this specifically as a solution to keep them warm during cold weather, it does retain some of their heat to keep the inside warmer than the ambient temperature in the room. We have pushed the top down on warmer days and this functions as expected as an open bed. The bed itself is indeed small, so if you have a big furbaby you may need to look for the larger one instead.

It's definitely a quality product. Exactly as described. Unfortunately my cat hasn't taken a liking to it just yet. He's already got his random spots around the house that he enjoys taking his naps, including a folded up blanket that I keep under my bed. I've place this new bed next to the blanket he likes to use but so far he hasn't showed much interest in it yet. I've tossed a couple of his toys in and he'll crawl in to retrieve them but that's as far as he's gone. I don't want to force him or anything so I'm trying to let him get used to it on his own terms as naturally as possible. But as soon as I catch him enjoying it and on a regular basis I'll for sure up date my review

I bought one of these cat beds and ended up buying a 2nd one because the cats were fighting over who got to sleep in the bed! They both LOVE these beds. I've bought cat beds in the past that they weren't too fond of, but these were definitely a hit. Absolutely worth the money in my opinion.***update April 2022*** I am happy I purchased these, both my cats are still sleeping in them regularly after 2 1/2 years. One cat has even learned how to open/close it so he can sleep either inside or on top without my help!

Ordered two of these, one for each of my 10 lb cats. Returned them the same day I received them. VERY small when folded down in the flat position and the "pillow" has very little padding. When opened into a "cave", with a very small opening, the entire bed rolled over backwards when my cat tried to lie down in it. So the cat was looking up at me through the opening, that pointed at the ceiling. No structure to the "cave" bed at all, so nothing to keep it upright, on its bottom. This bed is definitely NOT worth the money!

I like the quality and workmanship of this bed. Also like that it can be used two different ways. Neither of my cats has shown much interest in it, but I had a bed much like this, put it down in the basement as they weren't using it, now one of my cats uses it all the time to take naps. I figure that might happen to this one too.. they just take a while to get used to something. Maybe I'll replace the one downstairs with this one, as it's getting quite torn up. I've given it three stars since they haven't used it yet.

This is a lovely bed, well designed and large. But we could instantly tell from our kitten's reaction that it was treated with some kind of chemical catnip spray. This angered me greatly, as it was not mentioned in the description and we are not exposing our kitten to chemicals or to catnip at this time. Returned.

I think it's cute (a bit smaller than I thought it would be) but both cats demanded a thorough sniff inspection. The smaller of the two has been using it, especially when we toss & turn to much for her, and the non slip pad on the bottom works well. My Big Boy (14 lbs of muscle and fur, about the size of a small dog but taller and longer; bigger than the dog in the picture) decided it was too small after getting about half of him inside. He hasn't tried sleeping on top of it. Have yet to wash it. Seems well made, but time will tell.

I bought this cat cave bed for our new 8 week old kitten. He slept in it the very first night we put it out beside his regular bed. All in all the quality is nice, but the "pad" insert is very thin, so I put a flannel shirt inside of the bed and it does the trick. I would recommend this bed. It's small, but that's what I was looking for. I think he'll still be able to use it as an adult as well.
