I initially bought one pack of these to see if I liked them. They work great. They have a tight fit to keep the lighter waterproof as well as protect if from accidentally discharging the lighter fluid. It is sure much less expensive than the Exotac and less bulky. The Exotac is probably a little more protective, but I don't think you need more protection than what these provide.

Love the ease of installation. Love the tight, rubber, watwrproof seal. Love the price, 2 covers for $7.99. More affordable than the exotac product. Like to see these also made in a smaller size to fit bic mini lighters. I put these in my wish list so I can buy more in the future. Excellent product. Very pleased.

This is my first time buying a device that protects my lighter. I recently bought some silicone sleeves for my spare 18650 batteries and wanted something similar for my spare lighters. I was very reluctant to buy something like this. Although I can understand how it works, I was reluctant because, well, sometimes looks can be deceiving when buying online. My primary concern was wall thickness - I did not want the device to be so thin that it would eventually tear, rip, or fall apart. I have discovered that wall thickness is good, and I’m no longer concerned about its longevity/durability. When I first got it, I had a little difficulty with getting it on/off my lighter because I wasn’t used to it. It only took a day or two for me to get used to it and I’m able to operate very easily and conveniently. It’s lightweight, durable, and unobtrusive in the pants pocket. Since I wear shorts a lot, this makes a big difference for me. I like the black color. If they had other colors, I would still choose black. For me, it would be nice if it had a built-in tether between the upper cap and the lower body, so the cap isn’t accidentally lost. My second floor apartment has a balcony, and I accidentally drop the cap, which means I had to go downstairs and ask the person who lives there if they could find my very small, black, rubber cap to my lighter because it fell into their stuff on the patio. It took a few days, but a knock at my door brought the cap back home. When I get more, I’ll use them for my hiking and BOB packs.

I bought these for bic lighters I have in my hunting kit and carry every day. They work well but they’re a little big. I put a couple wraps of duct tape around the lighter and the protector fix snugly.

This is a budget friendly way to protect your Bic Lighter from getting wet or the fuel button from accidently getting pressed and losing your butane. The sleeve and cap fits real snug and is much lighter in weight than the Exotac sleeve. For the price you can't beat it. Does not fit the smaller Bic Lighters. I will be switching to these sleeves in the future but I have already purchased the Exotac sleeves so I will use both. Exotac sleeve material is a bit more thicker and has a cord loop for the cap and the lighter case. The Flame Nest does not have a cord loop or hole. There is however a thump pull which you can poke a hole and put a thin piece of lanyard on like a #12 bank line and then secure it to the lighter with 1 inch Gorilla tape. This way you don't lose the cap and you have the tape rapped around the lighter to use as emergency tinder. I do recommend as an alternative to the Exotac lighter sleeve. Sleeve slides on to lighter easier if you wet it first.
