From one beginner to another...
I want to preface this review with some history. The only self waxing I have done is eyebrows since I was 18. For many years I had my unmentionables waxed by a pro. It's been about 3 years since anything but my eyebrows were done. It's important to note from one beginner to another thar bigger is not better. This goes for 2 things, the size of your wax gob and the amount of hair you rip at once. That being said, I started my first ever dip at this in my underarms. Whew was that the pits! The hair came out fairly easily after I got the hang on the wipe 3 pull 3 method that so many YouTube videos showed me. I'm thankful I kept the baby powder close cause I had fear sweats starting right away. YouTube said you must keep dry and that is super true. Alright so got that all done and went right on to my lower legs with a small amount of technique gained. I used 4 fingers and bravery to lead me through this. I got the little bumpy marks immediately, so off I went with a bit of cool water and we were off again. The first few rips were the hardest, it turns out that's cause I started at the ankles. So y'all, don't start there! Anywho it didn't take long before my legs were at least acceptable in 3/4 leggings. My confidence was SOARING. Look here, my pits and hairsticks were mostly smooth, why not move on to the depths of danger?! So off I went. I started too big. I started WAYYYYYYY too big. The gob of paste was too big as was the amount of hair I went for. Unlike my waxer had done in the past (which should have been the first hint I was going at it wrong) I went right down the middle with a full 3 fingers. I did the against the grain 3 times then pulled at that paste like it was in danger. No y'all, I was the one in danger! It took me every bit of gumption I had to keep going. It's not bravery, it's stupidity. Pure dumb Idiocracy. But here I was committed to a bikini ready bod, even if my fat rolls said no. I immediately stopped the ripping with the big handful I had used on my let's and swapped it out for a nice small ball that I could use my thumb for if I needed to. I kept going. The saving grace, I learned, was a nicely placed fan. It did wonderful at keeping the wax from getting too sticky. Also not being afraid to swap out my ball for another often helped. I made it through several rips with a little practiced breathing. I kid you not, I changed the line from Nemo the whole time I prepared. So I swiped the wax on and thought softly "sharkbait, ooh haha" before every pull. As ill timing would have it, my husband and son returned from the store while I was midway through. I didn't want them to know I was dying quietly in the other room, so I took a little break. That was a huge mistake y'all. Here's the thing, like a tattoo, after you get going the area goes a bit numb and you can proceed with just a bit of outward motivation. But once you go back in 45min later, your brain stops you from pressing forward. You go to do the pull and your brain SCREAMS at you too stop. But we already established there's a certain amount of stupidity required, so naturally I continued, despite my brains biggest emotional retaliation it was lodging against me. I only made it about 5 more rips after the break. I couldn't bring myself to continue. So here I sit, writing a review with mostly smooth legs, only a few stragglers in the pits and my nether bits looking like the weed whacker done ran out of string and I tried to replace it with a saw blade. The good news is that the size tub I got will last forever, especially because it now lives right there under the bathroom sink until the day I die.

Must-Have Product for me now!
- I’m 2/3 of the way through my first container, and I’ve already ordered two more. I’ll be keeping this product stocked up at home from now on! I’ve been getting sugared for years, and my usual sugar studio is closed due to quarantine. I hate shaving so I’m glad I found great quality sugar paste on Amazon. Now I can do it myself and get professional results at home. - If you’ve been getting sugared for a while, I’m sure you’ve picked up on the technique. Whether or not you’ve been getting it done, do your research (I looked to YouTube and the Instagram pages of a few sugarists and sugar studios). There is definitely some trial and error involved but it is WORTH IT! - Make sure your skin is clean and dry. Use baby powder and reapply if needed to keep your skin dry or the sugar won’t stick to your hair. I’m only using this on myself so I don’t use gloves (I tried but I couldn’t keep good control of the sugar with gloves on, they may have been too loose). After a while (more so if it is especially warm in the room), the piece of sugar you’re using will start to melt down and become difficult to pull from your skin (it is best to work in a cold room). When that starts to happen, just thrown it away and grab a fresh piece from the container. If you try to continue using the same piece, it’ll get completely stuck and you may have to wash it off before you can continue sugaring that area. I find that I can usually use the medium paste straight from the container (no warming needed), but if it’s too solid (brand new container, cold room, hard sugar formula), I use a standard wax warmer on the lowest setting to soften it. If you don’t own a wax warmer, let the jar sit in hot water to soften the sugar (I don’t recommend putting it in the microwave). Shower after and you’re good to go. Make sure you keep up with exfoliating and moisturizing to prevent ingrown hairs. - Overall excellent product that I will continue to repurchase

It works
If I was a professional waxer I would probably give this 5 stars but I gave it 4 mostly because there are other waxing products that are easier to use. I used this with the intention of giving myself a full Brazilian wax but I had too much faith in my pain tolerance and couldn’t finish. That being said, the parts that I did wax were extremely soft, my hair follicles did not get clogged, and I didn’t break out the next day. I will continue to use this product for my bikini area but leave the full Brazilian to the professionals. Pros: -extremely sticky, works well removing hair -lasts a long time -good ingredients -residue comes off with water since it’s basically just sugar and lemon juice Cons: -hard to get out of container -does not work on fine hairs TLDR: good for coarse hair in areas that are not too painful to wax yourself. Slight learning curve but effective product nonetheless

Shipping time outrageous
The product itself is great! It works as it should. works for my legs and bikini area. I can not do my own armpits. However the shipping through Amazon is disgraceful. I ordered on June 6th. They gave me an estimated shipping date of the 12-16. Today is the 16th… and it still hasn’t shipped, and now the estimate says 12-17th. And it says we don’t know when or if this product will be back in stock. So I tried to cancel my order. It’s saying they’re not sure if they can cancel my order because they sent the request for the seller to fulfill the order? So I am going to order this product directly through the website like I should have in the first place. I will be so mad if I get charged for it through Amazon. Absolutely unimpressed.

EASY PEASY (HARD SUGAR)
The people in the reviews complaining, are clearly the 1 percent that just don't get it. Because this couldn't be any easier and it indeed was my first time EVER doing it. It was lowkey addicting lol. Tips: Shower and exfoliate area with exfoliator glove, completely dry off and if needed apply some numbing cream to area + take Pain meds. After about 30 minutes dry area completely off again and apply setting powder instead of baby powder. YES setting lol... ALL these steps made for an easy application and clear pull of hair with limited pain. The best area to test out your sugaring skills, is on your arm or leg. That way you can get your technique down. Then move on to the bigger more sensitive areas once perfected. Pros: A ton of product for your buck Worked well and each glob lasted for many pulls pretty simple and not as painful as traditional hard or hot wax Cons: Hard, is a tad difficult to get out if you dont zap it for a couple of seconds.

My new mortal enemy
I was really excited about this product! I've heard great things about sugar wax and I was looking for a new method of hair removal for *down there*. This sugaring paste wasn't it. I researched thoroughly the best way to go about using this wax, but it still ended up being a nightmare. It was painful (granted, this did not surprise me), messy and sticky, and ultimately ended up damaging my hair follicles. Despite the fact that I waxed in the recommended motion and followed all instructions, apparently this product caused me to rip the hairs off at the root instead of pulling out the entire follicle. This led to severe folliculitis (look it up if you're brave) for two weeks in my nether regions that has left fairly ugly scars. So that's cool. Additionally, and this is partially my fault, I thought this product would be safe to store in one of my drawers if I reattached the lid. It must have gotten knocked over at some point because half of the remaining tub of wax leaked and hardened in the bottom of my cosmetics drawer even though the lid was sealed. It was awful to clean up and involved a ton of time and stickiness to salvage my products that were coated in the stuff. I ended up throwing what little wax remained straight into the trash. I really wanted this product to be a game changer! And maybe you'll be able to use it with zero problems. But those with sensitive skin, beware. And don't store it anywhere you aren't willing to scoop hardened wax from later. TLDR; After a painful wax, this caused me to have folliculitis when the hair grew back. And it spilled all through one of my drawers, despite me reattaching the lid.

Works well, gets easier with practice
I was a little skeptical buying this at first because I’d never tried sugar waxing. I’d tried hard waxing, and it was a disaster. My leg hair is ferocious and shaving is such a pain, so I figured I’d give it a go. The first time I got one leg done from the knee down and stopped. It was pretty time consuming and painful, and I wanted to compare it to the other leg anyway. Also: I used a clean plastic gift card because I saw online that a lot of people recommend using a tool like that and it worked so much easier than trying to do it with my hands. I also used baby powder, but not nearly enough. When the hair grew back in, it was so much finer and there wasn’t nearly as much. After that time I did both legs together and learned that more baby powder means that the hair gets pulled more easily and it hurts less. I just sugared for the third time and it’s gotten so much easier and less painful. I’ve ordered some plain pvc cards meant for making ID badges to use. Seriously, after getting used to it I’m going to keep it up. My legs are so much smoother and the hair takes quite a while to come back in. I shave in between sugaring because I’ll getting little hairs here and there, but it’s not a big deal if I don’t.

For Professionals
The item description specifically reads that this is “for professionals.” I’ve been a licensed Esti. for 17 years now, and this is one of the downsides to products intended for professional use, being available to all consumers. I was licensed for nearly 15 years and primarily worked in plastic surgery and derm. before I learned how to Sugar. And to this day, I will say it has been the most difficult thing I’ve ever learned to do as an aesthetician. Getting waxed or sugared is never fun, it’s never pain free or without at least some slight disruption in the skins appearance when someone else, who’s trained, is doing it. So why anyone would believe it to be a good idea to attempt to do it oneself, is beyond me. If you can’t open the Sugar, sign number 1 that you shouldn’t then use it to remove your own unwanted hair. If you cant ‘t remove a ball of the sugar with your hand without looking like a 3 year old playing with honey; sign number 2 you shouldn’t use it. If you have no idea how to wax, giving you some context as to the ways in which Sugaring is different, sign number 3. For any negative feedback, review or commentary left; the issue is you, not the product. You’re bruised because you don’t know how to properly support your skin when removing the Sugar, not because any fault of the product. You can’t open the jar of Sugar without having to throw away a decent amount of it, because you don’t know to leave it upright once it’s delivered and then leave it under hot water- because you don’t Sugar. It “didn’t work” and You’re hair didn’t come out because you don’t know that you apply Sugar against the direction the hair grows, and remove in the same direction. Don’t review a product and fault it because you don’t know how to use it, and quite frankly, shouldn’t be using it at all. If your a professional in a bind and need Sugaring paste quicker than your usual vendor can ship, this will suffice just fine.
