I easily took the text strips off and stitching is not that noticeable. Zipper on the wrong side? I am not sure. I own several jackets with zipper on either side. One thing I noticed is that it is a matter of logic and convenience. Most people take a fixed small piece and put it into a slider. So, if you are a right-handed person, it is more convenient to have slider on the left and fixed narrow piece on the right. It is great tor what it is, do not expect it to be what it is not. I shold add that a year later after purchasing it, I finally tested it in cold temperatures. The coldest I tested it was at -10 F (about -23.3 C). I must say that the lining is veryvwarm and comfortable and kept me warm even wearing just t-shirt under. It is an excellent product for what it is. I, personally comsider it being an improvement on basic M65 design. Review: Very versatile jacket - I think this is a fine jacket. The olive color gives it a slightly worn look, which I like. It is a little on the large size, but I'd rather have it a slightly baggy than too tight. I really like the versatility. With the liner it's extremely warm. I live in Southern California, so most of the time I will remove the liner. It says M 65 GIANT on one side. And some other brand name strip on the other side. I plan to sew an American flag over the M 65 GIANT. And my name patch over the other side it's going to look great! I really love this jacket! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Did not make a mistake buying this jacket *by B***N on December 29, 2023* What can I say, great jacket, great quality, great look, warm, comfortable, easy to move in, ample pockets, I could sleep in this thing. The zip-out liner is warm making it suitable for cold weather, and the hide-away hood is a great feature. I don’t often use the hood unless I’m outside blowing snow on a windy day, it’s great for keeping snow from blowing down the back of your neck, although the high collar does a great job of that with the jacket zipped all the way up. I have only one complaint, and really, I think it's just a matter of muscle memory. Zipping this jacket up is a bit of a chore. It's a bit difficult to grasp both ends of the zipper and mate them together. Why? Because they are backwards from most American made products. The female end (the end that you pull up on to zip-up) is on the left side, not the right side as is on most jackets in the US. This jacket comes from Germany, and I guess they zip up opposite to us Americans lol. But, as I said, it's a matter of muscle memory. I had a jacket that zipped opposite a few years ago, and it took a little time, but eventually my hands and fingers got used to it. Aside from that...NO COMPLAINTS.
