A: You can put them directly onto your skin without problem, provided they are neither too hot nor too cold.
But its always best to put a cloth barrier between you and the pack for wicking sweat/condensation.

**Q: What are the packs, not the contents made from?**
A: They are a sort of rubbery material but are like cloth on the outside.

**Q: Is there a possibility of leakage (I'll  be travelling on a plane)?**
A: No there isn't. You can put these in the hold no problem.

This is a really great pack, especially for cold use. Absolutely worth the price. I've only used these as ice packs so far but they are very good. Freeze quickly and are mouldable right after removing g from the freezer if you need to wrap it around d a joint or if they were folded in the freezer and need manipulating before applying to the sore area. Been using them for lower back and neck and they work great for it. Prefect size to wrap the back of you neck entirely with one ice pack.
