Have You Played Or Owned A Plexi? Then you know!
Don't even bother looking at other MIAB pedals, this is THE one if looking for the REAL DEAL at your feet, or desktop for recording. James Santiago is the creator of this pedal and no one else could have done better. If you don't know who James is, then go you YouTube and search for "James Santiago Talks UAFX Lion Pedal Design, Development & Sound Modeling" and you'll be in the know. Nothing more to say, watch the video.

Excellent
Great Marshall recreation. Overdriven tone is great, as should be expected, but the cleans are pretty amazing too. Way to go Universal Audio!

Great amp sounds in a pedal
The media could not be loaded. Sound quality is excellent and It can replace your amp. Works great plugged straight into your recording device. No need to mic anything or worry about ambient noise in recordings. Also used it straight into a PA and it worked and sounded perfect. Should make it easy for sound checks. Would be less of a back break carrying this instead of an amp.I like the app for adding and changing presets, updates, and other tweaks. Build quality is good for the studio. One thing is to make sure you use the proper power supply. I fed it less power and just ended up with digital clicks and no guitar sound. If you are looking for a pedal that can replace your amp this is one of them.

I didn't get the Marshall tone I expected
It sounded good, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't seem to wrangle much gain out of it. I don't use tons of gain, but I thought I might be able to get a good EVH tone without using another pedal.

Bronze Medal
After demoing the UA Dream, Ruby, Friedman IR-X, Strymon Iridium, Walrus ACS1 (with that big firmware update), Boss IR-2, Simplifier V1, HX Stomp, and now this one, I would give this third place — which is really saying something. My top two are the UA Dream and Friedman IR-X, simply because they have, to my ear, the best combination of clarity and full bodied sound. The UA Lion is incredible but has much less low end. Even with the bass cranked on the “BASS” setting, I felt like there was some kind of high pass filtering going on that made this a less versatile pedal than the others. If you are looking just for a lead sound, this might be your pedal. It sounds fantastic and takes dirt pedals extremely well.If you are new to playing guitar and/or using amp modelers, please keep in mind that the Lion (and all of the pedals I mentioned) will sound extremely different depending on your guitar, your playing style, your gear, and your routing. I’ve heard demos of the Walrus ACS1, for example, that sounded ridiculously good, but in my rig it just sounded flat. There are just too many variables. So take this with a grain of salt, and always trust your own ears.

Amazing
Very responsive and dynamic just like a real tube amp. May take a while to dial in, but it gets awesome results

A Revelation
If you are after that vintage Marshall tone, then this is what you want. I’ve tried a lot of MIAB pedals (20-30), but nothing compares to this beast. Sounds outstanding through monitors but also kills through the effects return of my amps. It’s easy to turn the cab sim off for that. Truly one of the best pedals I’ve ever played and completely removes the need to buy a Marshall amp head (I don’t gig but you could easily gig with this through a power amp and cab). I waited for a while before buying but you shouldn’t. It’s worth it.

Saved my a&$
So, my normal amp is a Marshall DSL40CR. It and my backup amp bit the big one days before we had stretch of back to back gigs. I had a Fender Blues Jr but I could not get the sounds I needed out of it. I ordered the UA Lion the day before our gig. It got delivered about 4PM. I hooked it up at the end of my pedal board and went straight to the front of house mixer. The night was incredible. I am going to have to rethink our setup.
