Raspberry Pi5 (4GB)

I recently got my hands on the Raspberry Pi 5 (4GB) and it has exceeded all my expectations, particularly for running Home Assistant. The Pi5 is a great introduction to SBC, it’s small, powerful and very easy to get going. The documentation from Raspberry Pi is excellent and makes learning fun. I have mine running several applications via docker as well as home assistant and a NAS. The performance and versatility of the Pi5 is amazing, a great improvement over the previous Raspberry Pi models, this most recent version represents great value for money.

If you need the pi to perform, make sure you attach a decent heat sink with good airflow. If you are going to use it for bursty loads then a heat sink and fan should be fine. The performance is fantastic compared with the 3 and 4.

Raspberry Pi is great device model 5 is latest power house , excellent build, easy to set up, can be use in so many cases, functionality of os is great, size is no different, great for homebridge ! Recommend

Excellent device that can do anything you dream of. The pi 5 really is incredibly powerfull and seems to make anything you throw at it a simple task. The 8gb version is only really needed when constantly completing very complex tasks, but for the price I'd just stick with 2 or 4gb. I got the 4 and works great. Temps are easily lowered with a cheap cooler from the pihut website, most add ons from there are pretty cheap. Amazing build quality, great for tasks, interests, learning or just messing about. Would be 5 star if it wasn't for the huge price differences with the different models 2 4 and 8gb. Highly reccomend

Super reliable, speedy, well supported. Great price for what it is. Perfect if you’re diving into the world of home automation or diy projects because R Pi is so well documented online via forums. I went for the Pi 5 in the end. Might not be 100% necessary for most projects now but great for future proofing. Strong recommend.

If you don't know what Raspberry Pi is, then this review is for you.Raspberry Pi is one of many single board computers. I don't know if it's the original, but it has probably the most widely supported communities.A single board computer is basically a small as you can make a PC, using mobile phone grade tech. It has onboard wi-fi and Bluetooth. There are a myriad "HATs" (Hardware Attached on Top") that are compatible with this device, a comparison you could make is the various different cards that you can imstall into a PC build..You can't just install Raspberry Pi OS, plug in a power supply and a screen, and use it as a desktop computer. Nothing special but the software is all free. If you have a kid, I think they're teaching python coding in schools now. This is perfect for that.But the point of Raspberry Pi, and the entire Linux distro, is so that you can build your own electronics projects. I just built a router with the last one I bought.My skill level before I started with Raspberry Pi was the ability to pick parts for a PC and build it. I've had a bit of learning curve, but there is a huge community there to help. If you get into Raspberry Pi you are going to be watching a lot of YouTube videos.If you can't even build a PC, you probably want to start watching YouTube before you buy a Pi.
