Super shoes!
These are great shoes! They do run long, but are narrow in the heel and mid-step which makes them perfect for me. I also have bunions and there is NO problems or irritation form the shoes. I wear a 9.5 and these fit me great at the same size. Although they look long and may be slightly longer than others, they are not clumsy. I would want the extra length to ensure my toes never touch the front of the shoes. I bought these for hiking during our Grand Canyon raft trip...they are light and offer great support. I believe Soloman makes great shoes.

wonderful shoes
have a pair of these in 9 1/2 and they're a tad big, but have great arch support and on the narrow side. it's so difficult to find sneakers with good arch support and on the narrow side, decided to get another pair - this time in a 9. they fit beautifully, more on the medium side, but the laces make it easy to narrow them, and great arch support. highly recommend. update - bought another pair size 9 and they're perfect. super arch support. have high arch and tough to find shoes with good arch support. also have narrow foot, and although these are medium (b), the lacing system makes it easy to fit the shoe to my foot. am getting another pair in the future. highly recommend.

Marketing Done Right
I have been searching for a replacement trail shoe since Inov8 stopped making my all-time favorite shoe. I have tried on every shoe in my local running stores and I have read through countless reviews for all kinds of shoes. I have to say the thing that made me buy these was the description!! Come on, bacon and she-beast, what trail loving Paleo woman out there could resist???!!! When I got the first pair they were too big. I usually wear a 9-9.5 running shoe so I got a 9...I had to go down to an 8.5. The return process could not have been any easier. I got the replacement pair in 2 days. ...Now I have to say I have not RUN in them yet. My review is based ONLY on the way they feel on my foot and how they look! I promise to come back and update this review once I've had a chance to test them out properly. I have a 50K in a couple of weeks so I'll be out there racking up the miles soon. Stay tuned for part 2 of the review... UPDATE 12/18/14 --after first run in the shoes. I did a short run I do all the time so I could compare the performance of these shoes to my old favorite. These shoes fit very differently than what I'm used to. They come up a bit higher on my ankle which I thought might be a problem. It actually felt pretty darn good. I felt like my foot had more stability than usual. While I do think I was more comfortable in my old favorites, I think these shoes will provide a good bit more control of my foot than the old shoes. It was interesting because the ground was wet; I didn't have a lot of faith this shoe would provide the traction the old shoes did, but I didn't slip on mud or rocks. The trail I was on wasn't very technical so I'll update again after a longer run on rougher trails. So far, I love them and they are performing as advertised. Now...if only they came with chocolate covered BACON!!!! UPDATE 12/24/14--Okay...I took these babies out on a more technical trail today and it was VERY wet, not just a little wet like it was last time. FAIL. I slid on every single big wet rock out there. Little rocks were fine, regular trail was fine. Also, the shoes I had before were Gortex and they kept my feet really dry unless I was in water that was over the top of the shoe. I found out quickly today that was not going to be the case with these shoes. The worst part is that they do NOT drain-AT ALL. The upside to all of it is that my ankles felt very protected. Today's conditions were on the more extreme side of things so I will say I do still love the shoes and would still give them 4 stars. However, if you are going to run on wet rock (like slabs of rock not "rocks"), beware--you'll be ice skating more than running.

Best Trail Runners Out There for the Price!
I stumbled on these trail runners about 4 years ago. I was using Brooks trail runners (also excellent shoes, but quite pricey), but had to downsize the cost because of how quickly I was going through them.. These shoes are super comfortable, and the tread lasts for forever - and grips as good as any other trail runner or hiking shoe that I’ve ever owned - and that’s saying something!. I love the quick laces too - super fast to adjust. If you’re looking for a great shoe that’s worth the cost, you’ve come to the right place!

They run big, really big, but I love them!
Definitely 1/2 size too big. I am a true size 6.5 and wear 6.5 in most athletic shoes (Reebok All terrain, Nano 4, new Balance WT10) but prefer to size up in running shoes as my feet swell a good bit (Brooks Ghost and Kinvaras size 7) I own these in both the 6.5 and bought a second pair in 6 and will be keeping them both. The 6.5 are a touch too big to fit the way my size 7 running shoes do. Blue super feet add nice support and do fill the volume but make the shoe "shallower". Personal preference I guess, but they don't feel snug/secure enough for me for trail running. I prefer to wear ultralight smartwool socks, sometimes with injinji liners. Enter size 6. Not a true half size bigger but certainly bigger than a typical 6.5. So here we are. Size 6 for short trail runs, rucks or anything remotely non-walking (GoRuck challenges), size 6.5 with blue super feet for long hiking when my feet swell up and I want to wear thicker socks in the fall

I loved the looks of this shoe
I loved the looks of this shoe. I ordered my normal size as I had heard they ran a little big. A "little big" is an understatement. I wanted them for winter running when I wear 2 pairs of socks, one compression and the other a thicker, warm sock, so I wanted a little more room. I was not prepared for this shoe being more than a size bigger than I expected. I wear a 9 and maybe an 8 would have been too big also. The other issue I had was they would not allow you to try them out. The invoice stated they were "Satisfaction Guaranteed." But the shoes had to be in perfect condition in order to return them, in fact, the tags still had to be intact. How do I know I am satisfied if I can't run in them? I normally wear Brooks and occasionally Saucony and Asics. Brooks allows 30 days of WEARING the shoe on the trail and if you decide they aren't right for you, they will take them back, now that is satisfaction guaranteed. I will go back to my Brooks Cascadia's.

Squeaky Shoes
This is my second pair of Salomon hiking shoes. Different style from the first, but all the rest I write pertains to the first, as well. I love the fit, the lightweight-yet sturdy support, and the sole that grips so well. Unfortunately, every step produces an audible squeak. Every step. It's not noticeable in crowds, but it is so noisy that I felt compelled to remove them when popping in to the beautiful, and numerous, churches during our recent Europe trip. Museums and gift shops were awkward, too. I actually had to apologize to someone who was videoing an activity we were all a part of because of the squeakiness. I just purchased these in late March 2023 for this trip specifically. It's only mid-June and I don't want to wear them ever again. What a shame.

My favorite hikers
Love Salomon Hikers. My favorite thing is not thick on the sole so I can feel what I'm walking on without pain. I buy a pair every year. Light weight. Only negative is the fabric will eventually tear. Other then that, they are golden.
