Loved this Book
This book arrived in the mail yesterday and I am almost done. I cried more than once. adrienne maree brown is vulnerable, honest, challenging and so wise. I felt deepened as a person by reading this. If you want guidance for how to navigate this complex moment in history with compassion and self-reflection read this.

Really Good Starting Point
There’s a lot of great things to take from the book, but there are some criticisms I felt while reading. Some concepts I wish were expanded on with explanations and examples. Adrienne would make statements, and offer advice on the end result, or what you should do, but there often is not an answer to “how” or sometimes “why.” It’s great as an overview but to delve into the topics will take more time and effort. I also didn’t like some of the magical stuff. I grew up with spells, and energy talk, and magic, and astrology, and whatnot and it’s just not for me. Though for those that think it’s a reason not to read, it’s not. Just skip over those sections because the book does bring up a lot of good points and it did inspire me to be more intentional in my conflict resolution and really push me out of my comfort zone to reasonably understand my loved ones. Though there is so much more to learn.

Everyone should read this
We are deeply in need of this conversation as a community. Wonderful book. I’m reading and listening to the audio book at same time.

Required reading for a human heart
This book was helpful for me in internally circling back to conflicts, ruptures, and incomplete repairs that have occurred in my life - even those that were deep in my childhood - and resetting my perspective on how myself and each involved party could have conducted themselves if they had been equipped to understand their own humanity (shortcomings, strengths, traumas, growth edges, communication pitfalls, etc.). Then this book served me in the present moment, about three weeks after I had set it on the top of a bookshelf stack, in helping a few people involved in community outreach work learn to see their natural differences were shaping a conflict they were drawing everyone into, and how they could adjust their behaviors slightly to relieve the weight of drama from their teams. I cannot recommend this book enough. The stories above are here because I think that you won't know until you get you a copy of this book how it will transform your relationships in personal, professional, political, philosophical, and peripheral spheres of life. It stands to reason you could emerge a person who sets better boundaries, exercises more compassion and understanding, and has less excuses for shortcomings while having more tolerance for people to bounce back and course correct. Just buy the dang thing, please, it's going to pay for itself in ameliorated heartache.

essential for now, essential amb writing
I’ve been an ardent adrienne maree brown reader since Emergent Strategy. She’s a beacon of gentle, open, vigilant, justice-minded thinking, and I recommend all of her work. Loving Corrections feels like both a culmination and entry point for the Emergent Strategy series!! And it’s centered on a brilliantly simple, challenging premise: how do we practice being direct about our morals to loved ones? How do we, to quote her: “stop lying about the things that matter” to us? No matter where you are on the political spectrum, we can all recognize we live in times where division reigns, and honest communication (as well as the adjustments that must follow) takes the backburner in our lives. Honesty, adjustment, and connection are the way forward (another stellar quote: “Love is being radically honest, and surviving.”) And here you have a gracious guidebook on how to practice! And why it’s so important to practice! Every day! This is quintessential amb, buy it so you can read her essay on Ursula Le Guin alone—it’s some of her greatest work yet. If you’re hesitant, check her On Being interview to see if this aligns! Grateful this is out in the world, and I hope it finds homes all across space and time.

absolutely amazing and very needed in this time
I could have highlighted the majority of this book - this kind of grounding and love is what is going to get us through this time of fasism and hatred. I cannot like or recommend this enough!
